The Director, Digital Underwriting is accountable for the successful delivery, adoption, and performance of digital underwriting solutions across Hong Kong and Singapore. Combining deep underwriting expertise with strong execution leadership, the role partners with clients and cross-functional teams to implement scalable solutions that improve underwriting efficiency, increase automation, reduce referrals, enhance client experience, and support business growth. The role serves as the primary owner for implementation success, client adoption, operational performance, and continuous improvement of digital underwriting solutions. Key Accountabilities Lead the end-to-end delivery, implementation, adoption, and optimization of digital underwriting solutions, ensuring successful execution, achievement of client objectives, and realization of business value. Partner with Business Development and clients to translate underwriting, operational, and business requirements into scalable digital solutions that enhance customer experience, improve underwriting outcomes, and support business growth. Serve as the digital underwriting subject matter expert throughout client engagements, implementation workshops, training, and post-launch reviews, driving adoption, utilization, and client satisfaction. Own the underwriting workstream for digital underwriting initiatives, including the design, configuration, testing, deployment, and ongoing enhancement of underwriting rules, decision logic, workflows, evidence requirements, and referral frameworks. Collaborate with underwriting, actuarial, product, technology, data, risk, and operations teams to deliver compliant, scalable, and operationally effective solutions aligned with underwriting philosophy and risk appetite. Monitor and optimize solution performance using data-driven insights to improve implementation success, user adoption, underwriting efficiency, turnaround times, straight-through processing, decision quality, and client outcomes. Drive continuous improvement initiatives to increase automation, reduce manual referrals, exceptions, and rework, while maintaining underwriting quality, governance, and operational resilience. Establish and manage performance metrics, reporting frameworks, and governance processes to measure adoption, service levels, client satisfaction, operational performance, and business benefits. Lead issue resolution, root-cause analysis, and remediation activities to ensure solution stability, effective risk management, and a seamless client experience. Coach and develop team members while fostering a culture of accountability, execution excellence, innovation, and continuous improvement. Requirements & Skills Bachelor's degree in Insurance, Actuarial Science, Business, Data Analytics, Medical Science, or a related discipline. 10+ years of experience in life and health underwriting, including digital underwriting, automated underwriting, or underwriting transformation. Proven success leading the implementation, adoption, and optimization of digital underwriting solutions and delivering measurable business outcomes. Deep knowledge of life and health underwriting, risk assessment, underwriting operations, and automated decision-making frameworks. Expertise in digital underwriting platforms, rules engines, workflow automation, decision logic, and straight-through processing. Strong ability to translate underwriting guidelines, medical evidence requirements, product features, and risk appetite
