Critical Environment Program Manager

Microsoft’s Cloud Operations & Innovation (CO+I) is the engine that powers our cloud services. As a  Critical Environment Program Manager (CEPM) , you will play a key role in delivering the infrastructure that supports the world’s largest online services. In this role, you will be   responsible for leading complex, cross-functional programs that ensure the  safety, reliability, and scalability of mission-critical data center environments .   You will own end-to-end execution across electrical, mechanical, and operational systems, working across multiple teams, vendors, and stakeholders to deliver high-impact outcomes. This position requires strong technical acumen, program leadership, and the ability to drive results in high-risk, highly regulated environments.

What You’ll Do Lead and execute  medium-to-large scale critical environment programs  spanning power, cooling, and infrastructure systems Drive  cross-functional coordination  across operations, construction, engineering, and vendor teams Ensure delivery of work is  safe, compliant, on-time, and high quality Identify, assess, and mitigate  operational and infrastructure risk Own and improve processes related to: Preventative maintenance Change management and outages Incident response and root cause analysis Influence execution strategy and continuously improve  operational efficiency and reliability Data Center Work Environment: Share best practices, assists others in learning role, process, procedures; and mentors others Promotes a culture of safety, security, and compliance in all aspect of datacenter activities Realize the impact of change on others Learn, live, and coach the One Microsoft culture and values.  Lead through change by bringing clarity, generating energy, and delivering success Removes barriers to agility to enable the team to shift priorities quickly without losing productivity. Embody our culture and values Qualifications   Required Qualifications: High School Qualification or equivalent AND 3+ years supporting IT equipment or delivering server/network deployment projects in large-scale environments OR equivalent experience.

3+ years experience in Critical Environment infrastructures (e.g., UPS, Generator, AHU) or working in physical IT infrastructures (e.g., Servers, SANs, Networking, Capacity, DC Rack/Enclosures, structured cabling) Technical College degree in Computer Science, Math, Telecommunications, Electrical/Mechanical Engineering or related field. Applicable certifications: ASICS/Inventory Control, CompTIA, Microsoft, Network Certifications, PMP, ITIL, CDCP. 6 months + of experience working with the operation of building cooling, electrical, mechanical, and life safety systems 6 months + of experience with Electrical Power Monitoring Systems (EPMS), Branch Circuit Monitoring (BCM), and Building Automation Systems (BAS) 3+ years of experience with project management or relevant certification/training in project management  Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in applicable engineering field or mechanical or electrical trades 3+ years experience working on large scale projects.    Background Check Requirements:  Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. Data Center Operations Management IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $102,600 - $202,800 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $137,500 - $225,800 per year.
