TD IT Architecture covers TD's overall technology strategy, direction, standards for designing and/or developing an architecture framework including technology architecture strategy, policies, guiding principles and standards to govern how technology solutions will be developed and implemented across the organization. Architects typically develop and maintain any combination of the following: solution and application architecture, infrastructure environment architecture, technical integration architecture, data strategies and models, security and enterprise architecture. There's room to grow in all of it. About This Role As we look ahead to 2026, we anticipate an increased workload driven by the migration of our payments data store to Mongo Atlas, the acceleration of the Sanctions program and the VCP initiative. To ensure we have the necessary capacity to support these critical initiatives and meet our architecture objectives, we need to expand our payments architecture team. The new architect will primarily support the payments data domain, allowing the current team to properly support other critical domains such as the sanctions program, bulk payments, payments shared services and AMCB ACH initiatives. Ability to understand business needs and provide practical architecture and technology solutions while advancing the overall long-term vision Apply a multi-disciplined expertise with database, application, client tiers, layering of software, build, test and deploy strategies in order to create the overall design of software (including applications, infrastructure, middleware) and guide how the sub-components are developed by different teams Elevate focus on applications and data as differentiators for the customer experience, anchored in sound foundational elements of Infrastructure and Platforms Advise on suitability of technology stacks to define principles / key constraints for solution components; rallies the team around these principles to determine security / scalability approach, and impact assessments for future design Drive continual upgrading and grounds the team in assessing practical program concerns to innovate on both server-side and user-side features as technologies / platforms expand to reduce technology debt and build resilient solutions Lead code reviews to create and test prototypes to assess viability of approaches.
