Where is the work: On-Site (5 days)     What’s in it for you:   Trane in Charleston, SC is hiring a Turnkey Installation Lead Technician! This is an “on your tools” journeyman role that works closely with the Construction Project Manager to assure that the projects are installed and completed to maintain the standard of excellence established by the company and customer. This role requires direct commercial HVAC installation experience. Certain tasks will be assigned by the Construction Project Manager to take the lead on with little oversight. The Lead Technician will ensure that quality standards are maintained across all tasks and projects. This position involves hands on work for the installation of our turnkey commercial HVAC systems, and is a great opportunity to learn about the business and create a path towards leadership within the organization. What you will do

Responsible for the installation, commissioning, diagnosis, repair, and start-up of HVAC systems, utilizing knowledge of air conditioning theory, pipe fitting, air distribution, controls and mechanical layouts.  Responsible for planning, analyzing and timely completion of assigned projects and activities.        Uses a variety of hand tools, along with interpreting construction drawings, plans, and specifications, in order to mount, hang, fit, and install equipment and systems. Ensures compliance with internal contracting processes. Performs site surveys, replacements, modifications and start-up as needed or requested by customers.  Prepares for on-site installation by examining building layout, anticipating difficulties, gathering materials and coordinating on-site work, and coordinating with other trades as necessary. Maintains assigned stock of inventory, company equipment, and documents all related activities. Records parts, material, labor, and other cost data per assignment and returns unused resources. Provides training and follow-up training at customer site. Provides sales leads to appropriate personnel. Documents work by completing paperwork on each job, including daily time, progress, and duration; and maintaining files. Turns in all required paperwork and reports in a timely manner. Provides technical support to customers on assigned projects. Communicates with customers and their representatives, including building owners, subcontractors, and field support staff.  Maintains customer satisfaction by investigating concerns and implementing corrective action. Ensures compliance with internal contracting processes. Supports Project Managers by ensuring that assigned projects are completed on schedule and within budget. Supports Project Developer in the procurement of equipment. Responsible for acquiring project materials from local suppliers. Assists Project Manager in planning assigned projects and prioritizing tasks. Attends planning meetings on a weekly basis.
