Job Description
AECOM is seeking a motivated, technically-experienced team leader to serve as Senior Electrical Engineer. This position can be based in either our Chicago, IL or Minneapolis, MN office. Our Buildings + Places practice includes architecture, interiors, building and system engineering, urbanism, and planning (inclusive of landscape design), strategy +, economics, technology solutions, asset advisory, and cost and program management. This diverse team assists our clients from strategy through project realization, creating positive outcomes for those who occupy and use the buildings and environments we help to create. Our B+P offices focuses on the Commercial/Corporate, Science and Technology, Health Care, Higher Education, Military and Federal market sectors. Job Description
Provides technical leadership for a specialty and is considered to be an expert professional in their field. Applies intensive and diversified knowledge of engineering principles and practices in broad areas of assignments and related fields. Makes decisions independently on technical problems and methods and represents the organization in conferences. Resolves important questions and plans and coordinates work. Requires the use of advanced techniques and the modifications and extension of theories, precepts and practices of the field and related sciences and disciplines. The knowledge and expertise required for this level of work usually result from progressive experience. Supervision and guidance relate largely to overall objectives, critical issues, new concepts, and policy matters. Receives direction on unusual conditions and developments. This position will involve working with a multidisciplinary team who work together to conceive, permit, design and provide construction administration support for small and large projects. The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to: Designs power distribution systems, microgrids, lighting systems, etc. Performs Construction Administration services, including review of shop drawings, RFI’s and review of contractor proposed change orders Evaluates feasibility of alternative design approaches in conjunction with senior team members Performs site/ field visits to ascertain existing conditions including equipment condition
