Within the Quality Assurance Technician description there are 5 distinct sets of responsibilities: Work-in-Process Auditor, Final Auditor, Sample Auditor, Finished Goods Sorting Coordinator, and Work-in-Process Sorter. All roles of the auditing process provide documentation and samples to ensure quality folding cartons are produced and meet customer specifications prior to delivering to the customer. If a non-conformity is detected, the Quality Assurance Technician is responsible for placing the order on hold, providing accurate disposition, and segregating the cartons to avoid mixing of product. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS : Work-in-Process Sorter – performs responsibilities according to established WI, including identifying pallets of non-conformity cartons, moving to sorting area, sorting cartons, measuring, and converting the total non-conforming cartons using conversion chart, completes paperwork, and follows disposition instructions by QA Manager or QA Lead, and performs line clearance according to WI. Final Auditor – performs responsibilities according to established WI, physical inspection of random samples, pulling samples for customer and sales representative, paperwork completion such as Customer Sample/COC, randomly auditing completed cases from conveyer and flagging/segregating any cartons of non-conformity, notifies Account Coordinator of any shortages. Sample Auditor – performs responsibilities to established WI including statistical sampling according to customer specifications and completing COC/Analysis as applicable. Finished Goods and WIP Sorting – performs responsibilities according to established WI including performing line clearance according to WI, sorting cartons, completing documentation, moving cartons to finishing goods staging area. Provides other assistance to the QA Manager or QA Lead as requested. Works proactively to promote teamwork at all levels of the company. Conforms with and abides by all regulations, policies, work procedures, safety rules, security procedures and instructions. Performs all duties according to established safety policy, including wearing all required PPEs to perform duties. Follows all SQF requirements in the position and immediately reports all food safety concerns to management.
QUALIFICATIONS
5-years work related experience in a manufacturing environment and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred. Experience in quality related field is preferred. Good computer skills Good problem-solving skills. The ability to follow written and verbal instructions. Good communication skills Good mathematical ability, including understanding of measurements. Ability to work in team environment. Ability to work without close supervision. Pass a color blindness test.
