Northrop Grumman’s Defense Systems sector is seeking a Mechanical Engineer/ Principal Mechanical Engineer on the Command and Launch Infrastructure Integration team. This position is in our Strategic Deterrent Systems Division to execute the Engineering and Manufacturing Development phase of the Sentinel Ground Based Strategic Deterrent (GBSD) program. This position will be located on campus in Roy, UT and may require on-site support at product manufacturing and integration sites. The qualified candidate will work within an Integrated Product Team (IPT) environment, interfacing with IPT leadership, suppliers, customers, and other technical disciplines to engineer design solutions to challenging problems through the development of Product Definition Packages (PDP). This position may be filled at a higher level based on qualifications below. Roles and Responsibilities Create and implement deployable mechanical mechanisms that are verified through test/analysis Develop CAD models visualizing various design solutions Deliver required PDPs on time to meet program objectives Develop Infrastructure Integration PDPs with the various element teams to proactively eliminate disconnects and design clashes Identify gaps within a design and/or requirements and provide a resolution that is cost effective, innovative, and has minimal impact to others Ensure the developed PDPs meet the design requirements from the various element/configured item specifications Basic Qualifications This position may be filled at a Mechanical Engineer level or at a Principal Mechanical Engineer level Requires a bachelor’s degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) discipline from an accredited university with 2 years of related experience; or a master’s degree with 1 year of related experience (Principal level requires 5 years with a bachelor's; or 3 years with a master's) Must be a US Citizen with an active U.S. Government Secret Security Clearance, at time of application, current and within scope, with an investigation date within the last 6 years Must have the ability to obtain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP) approval within a reasonable period of time, as determined by the company to meet its business needs Requires experience with design/fabrication techniques for structural details, assemblies, and/or installations Requires experience using product lifecycle management (PLM) or Product Data management (PDM) tools Requires
