About this role

Job Summary

The Land Technician researches, coordinates, and administers land rights activities to ensure land agreements are accurately maintained and compliant with legal and regulatory requirements. This role supports the Company's land portfolio by researching property rights, maintaining land records, preparing and recording legal documents, and administering landowner payments, lease obligations, and contractor invoices. The position works closely with landowners, county agencies, survey teams, Legal, and other internal stakeholders to support land-related projects and provide excellent customer service. Essential Functions Research, interpret, and maintain land rights records, including leases, easements, licenses, deeds, and other property agreements. Conduct ownership, title, and courthouse research to verify land rights and support land-related transactions. Prepare, process, record, and maintain legal documents such as leases, assignments, amendments, releases, and related agreements. Calculate, process, and track landowner payments, lease obligations, receivables, and contractor invoices to ensure timely and accurate payment administration. Maintain accurate land records and documentation in electronic and physical recordkeeping systems. Submit agreements and related documents to appropriate county and governmental offices for recording. Partner with Legal and other internal stakeholders to ensure land agreements meet legal, regulatory, and business requirements. Track and support survey and land projects, including coordination of activities and payment processing. Build and maintain productive relationships with landowners, county officials, contractors, and other external partners. Respond to inquiries regarding land rights, agreements, payments, and other land-related matters. Support company safety initiatives and comply with all applicable safety policies and procedures.

Minimum Qualifications

High School Diploma or GED with related experience in land administration, records management, lease administration, surveying support, real estate, or a similar field. Ability to read, interpret, and process legal documents, contracts, and property records. Experience working with Microsoft Office Suite and other business applications. Strong organizational, analytical, and attention-to-detail skills. Effective written and verbal communication skills. Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Valid driver's license. Ability to obtain Notary Public certification.

Preferred Qualifications

Associate's degree in Business, Paralegal Studies, Real Estate, Surveying, Geographic Information Systems (GIS), or a related field. Experience with land rights administration, lease management, title research, right-of-way activities, or property records. Working knowledge of courthouse research, land records, easements, leases, and related legal documents. Experience processing landowner payments, lease payments, accounts payable, or contract administration activities. Working knowledge of SAP, Ariba, OpenText, or similar document and financial management systems. Familiarity with surveying, mapping, utility operations, or energy industry land practices.
