Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems Sector has an opening for a Principal Data Engineer to join our Program and CoTE Analytics team. This position is located in Melbourne, Florida with the option for Hybrid work. You must be within a commutable distance from the Melbourne site. Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems relies on our team to provide the insights needed to drive performance across a broad range of strategic activities. We are looking for a passionate Data Engineer to design and develop an ecosystem of interconnected business systems, virtualized data pipelines, data catalogs, and end-user consumable data products. You will share in the ownership of the technical vision and direction for a Digital Ecosystem that changes the way we see and use data. We are looking for people who are self-motivated, hardworking, and have demonstrated the ability to find innovative solutions to complex technical problems. Essential Functions: • Lead the design and development of scalable and high-performance ETL pipelines to support enterprise data initiatives • Architect data integration solutions that consolidate data from varied sources into centralized data warehouses • Write and optimize advanced SQL queries and develop complex Python scripts for data processing and automation • Mentor junior engineers in best practices for ETL design, coding standards, and system optimization • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure that data systems meet evolving business needs and compliance standards Basic Qualifications • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a another related STEM field with 5 or more years of experience or Master’s degree with 3 or more years of experience • Expert-level proficiency in SQL and Python for building and optimizing data pipelines • Extensive experience in data integration, ETL framework design, and data warehousing • Proven track record of architecting reliable, scalable data solutions in a complex environment • Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, and communication skills • Ability to obtain or maintain US Government final Secret Clearance Preferred Qualifications • Experience with modern data streaming and batch processing tools • Experience with modern data orchestration tools (e.g. Airflow, Prefect) • Proficiency in leading data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, PowerBI) • Familiarity with cloud data services and big data technologies (e.g., Spark, Hadoop) • Involvement in strategic planning and implementation of enterprise data strategies • Experience with UI/UX design and development / Graphic Design • US Government final Secret clearance • CompTIA Security+ Certification or Equivalent 8570 Certification Primary Level Salary Range: $98,400.00 - $147,600.00 The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop
