Position Specific Description Our Fleet Services Department is looking for a Garage Lead Diesel Technician to join their team at our facility in Florida City, FL. The Garage Lead provides safe and reliable vehicles and equipment to all customer segments while maintaining a technical focus for solutions to complex problems including but not limited to electrical, mechanical, fluid powering or hybrid applications. To be considered for this role, the selected candidate must possess an active ASE Master Certification in Medium Duty/Heavy Duty Truck; FS Fluid Power Mobile Hydraulic Mechanic Certification; Cummins Engine Certification OR Freightliner Truck Certification and Valid Class A CDL with Tanker “N” Endorsement. Under limited supervision, provides safe and reliable vehicles and equipment to all customer segments while maintaining a technical focus for solutions to complex problems, including but not limited to electrical, mechanical, fluid powering or hybrid applications. At times will assist in monitoring / assessing performance of other technicians and groups to make improvements or take corrective actions. Job Duties & Responsibilities
Communicates and demonstrate safe working practices ensuring daily, weekly and monthly shop safety and environmental inspections are performed Diagnoses faults or malfunctions to determine required repairs Guides, trains and provides technical assistance to other technicians Maintains garage parts inventory Manages shop workflow scheduling for vehicle and equipment maintenance Outsources works and deals directly with vendors for parts, service and semi-annual maintenance Identifies and evaluates strengths and weaknesses of alternative repair solutions Produces maintenance reports using the fleet program and company software applications Performs other job-related duties as assigned Required Qualifications
High School Grad/GED Experience: 6+ years Current Medium Duty/Heavy Duty Truck ASE Master Certification FS Fluid Power Mobile Hydraulic Mechanic Certification Cummins Engine Certification OR Freightliner Truck Certification Valid Class A CDL with Tanker “N” Endorsement Preferred Qualifications
