Located in Colorado Springs, CO this role is essential to supporting the U.S. President, the Secretary of Defense, and combatant commanders at the strategic, regional, and operational levels.
Position
Overview: The Command and Control, Battle Management, and Communications (C2BMC) program is a key component of the Missile Defense System. It enables the U.S. president, secretary of defense, and combatant commanders to plan missile defense operations, monitor battles, and control sensors and weapon systems worldwide. C2BMC supports layered missile defense against threats across all ranges and flight phases. It enhances performance by networking and synchronizing sensors and weapon systems at global and regional levels. C2BMC is required for all ground and flight tests verifying missile defense capabilities. This position is for a Software Engineer on the C2BMC Global program supporting the development of future missile defense capabilities. Essential Functions: Responsible for software development in the C++ language for Advanced Framework for Simulation Integration and Modeling (AFSIM), while continuing to support existing Java-based components Maintains currency, debugs, and configures related software products Works from specifications to develop new simulation entities and/or extend development frameworks to support new entity behaviors Responsible for performing analysis and technical support of systems software products, including problem resolution, design, development, testing, operational integration, and user support, by leveraging general knowledge of related disciplines, applications implications, and customer areas Assists with the design, coding, benchmark testing, debugging, and documentation of programs Interfaces with other system support groups to resolve problems, set standards, and improve the overall efficiency of the operating system Designs, codes, tests, and implements tools for operations automation Works on most phases of software systems programming applications and may require instruction and guidance in other phases Basic Qualifications: Please note your updated security clearance and IAT/relevant certifications on your resume, if applicable. A Bachelor’s Degree in a related field from an accredited university, along with 5 years of experience; or a Master’s degree in a related field with 3 years of relevant work experience; or 9 years of relevant work experience may be considered as an alternative to a degree Applicants must have a current active in-scope DoD-issued Secret security clearance at the time of application, which is required to start Software engineering and software development with strong AFSIM and C++ experience, especially in developing AFSIM plugins for
