Provide leadership, expertise, and practical support for Safety Excellence in all Corning operations in the Americas region. Goal is to ensure each operation has a rigorous safety program that protects the safety of Corning employees, contractors and visitors at all times. This role must adeptly function within a matrixed organization structure with plant EHS and Corporate Safety teams driving solutions in cooperation with plant operations, engineering and technology resources. A significant emphasis will be hands-on support to help sites accomplish the work. This role will also provide education, culture change, and help the site leadership form a strategic plan for sustainable improvement in safety performance. It involves influencing sustainable change in cultural and technical aspects of manufacturing at all levels of the organization. This role requires working within complex manufacturing structure at a plant, division and corporate (Corning Inc.) level. The work is multi-dimensional in the areas of regional, legal and corporate regulations and compliance. A significant emphasis will be hands-on support to help sites accomplish the work. This role will also provide education, culture change, and help the site leadership form a strategic plan for sustainable improvement in safety performance. Key Responsibilities
Partner with site teams across the Americas region to implement corporate safety standards — delivering employee training, developing continuous improvement plans, supporting post-incident problem solving, and sharing best practices across sites. Conduct site assessment visits (up to 2-week durations) to evaluate compliance with corporate safety standards and regulatory requirements; develop and support Corrective Action and Preventive Action (CAPA) plans to close identified gaps. Drive systematic, data-driven continuous improvement across the region; analyze injury/illness data, compliance metrics, and training completion data to identify trends and develop targeted solutions.
