As a Lead Software Engineer at JPMorgan Chase within the Commercial & Investment Bank's Reconciliation technology team, you'll be an integral part of an agile team that works to enhance, build, and deliver trusted market-leading technology products in a secure, stable, and scalable way. You will be part of the best-in-class Reconciliations platform team and will work with a highly inspired and inquisitive team of technologists who are developing and deploying applications to the highest standards. The team is responsible for providing a multi-asset Reconciliations platform that will cover cash, swaps, listed options and futures across Front, Middle and Back Offices.
Job responsibilities
Work across entire software development lifecycle: requirements gathering, design, implementation, testing, deployment and handover to support teams. Join the cloud adoption journey. Drives team adoption of enterprise-authorized AI-assisted engineering practices within the work environment to improve code quality, delivery speed, and operational outcomes (e.g., AI-assisted code review/refactoring, test strategy acceleration, incident/root-cause analysis support), while establishing consistent validation standards (secure coding, peer review, automated testing) and promoting reuse of effective patterns across the team. Applies knowledge of tools within the Software Development Life Cycle toolchain, including enterprise-authorized AI-assisted development and automation capabilities, to improve the value realized by automation. Manage requirements, specifications, and design documents Handle release and stakeholder management Involve in L3 support for Production environments Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 5+ years applied experience Strong analytical development skills, solid understanding of computer science fundamentals Strong development experience in Java and public cloud offering Comfortable working with Linux based environments and having good knowledge of Unix/Linux commands and shell scripting A strong passion for infrastructure as code and associated automation and provisioning tools like Terraform, Ansible etc. Demonstrated experience leading effective use of approved AI-assisted software development tools (e.g., for coding, code review, test acceleration, troubleshooting) with the ability to set team expectations for validating AI outputs for correctness, performance, and security. Strong understanding of responsible AI use in engineering workflows, including data sensitivity considerations, secure handling of inputs/outputs, and adherence to resiliency and security expectations; experience coaching engineers on safe, compliant adoption within delivery practices Good understanding of CI/CD pipeline build, improvement and management Experience with GIT, Jira, Confluence, Wiki Excellent verbal & written communication skills Experience working in a team with a strong software development process (build, test, deploy) Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills Knowledge of KDB/q is a plus. Preferred experience in Cloud Infrastructure and related technologies Good understanding of FIX and other financial messaging protocols is preferred
