The Leave and Absence Consultant is a key partner in helping grow our client base by delivering innovative, efficient, and effective services. The role will be primarily responsible for evaluating plan design requirements and determining the right offering for prospects with FMLA and Disability. Additionally, this role provides consultation anytime our core segment clients have a request that deviates from our standard offering in the client profile or catalog. This role will engage with prospects and Sales Executives through all stages of the sales process as well as internal partners to navigate and guide clients as subject matter experts. Additionally, as new offerings are developed, the Leave and Absence Consultant must continue to expand their awareness to be able to continue providing consultation on our offerings. Principal Duties and Responsibilities Serve as a subject matter expert during our sales process for FMLA, Disability, and our collective offerings on the Total Leave platform, inclusive of representing the expected client and employee experience (may include integrations with HRC). Evaluate the prospects’ scope and plan design requirements for FMLA, and Disability to ensure the profitable acquisition of new cases and the continued retention of in force cases. Exhibit an understanding of the sales process and marketplace influences to partner with the field to maximize the company’s outcome at a case level. Partner with the Sales Representative in the development of a prospective clients’ sales strategy Engage with broker (when applicable) and senior HR officials at prospects to understand plan requirements and provide consultation. Present the details of Unum’s best solution and integration offering, when needed, to prospective clients. Acts as Consultant to employer on client profile and catalog offerings to enrich the overall benefit to employee/employer. Use Salesforce to gather and store data regarding client interactions and consultation to ensure education happens with all applicable clients. identify trends and opportunities for improvement and provide insight to the broader enterprise based on the clients they support to continue our efforts on developing the capabilities and offerings. Represent Unum by delivering presentations and engaging with audiences at customer forums. May perform other duties as assigned. Job Specifications BA/BS or combination of education and equivalent related work experience required. 5+ years of FMLA and/or STD experience preferred. Competent
