Job Overview
TE Connectivity Advanced Manufacturing Engineering & Technology Group has an opportunity for a mechanical engineer with project management experience and team working capabilities in the Plating Core Process Technology group. The individual shall provide insight into mechanical design in automated plating production lines, and also be able to provide project development support for plants- including sharing best practices at sites and helping to implement & scale globally Job Requirements
As an engineer in plating, you will report to the Plating Manufacturing Engineering Director and interface directly with the plating development team as well as the plant manufacturing teams to provide technical automation knowledge on current leading edge and next generation technologies. You will be working closely with process engineers, manufacturing engineers and external system integrators. Most importantly, you will be a safe-guard for the mechanical design, project schedule and project task during different phases of an automation project, including requirement definitions, concept review and detailed design review, installation, training and final ramp-up trouble shooting, all the way to transition the automation project to the maintenance team. Job Responsibilities will include:
Effectively communicate with other plating manufacturing engineering team members regarding possible technical difficulties or road-blocks and lean on our team or global expertise to solve Be responsible for updating training content in plating- updating old files and re-publishing with support from our team on the technical side Own the plating internal sharepoint site, custom plating AI agent, and any additional agents for plating Work with product engineering and product launch engineers to help with DFM (design for manufacturing) gaps that exist between product design & manufacturing through creation of additional standards, trainings, or AI agents. Understanding of internal TE specifications and support applying them to plating automation lines Be a vital owner of TE’s Plating roadmap- helping to launch & support projects to take TE plating into the future Enable smooth and open communication with external non-standard automation equipment vendor regarding the automation projects requirements Work with internal or external automation team members to
