Engineering Technician

Eaton’s ES AMER ARS PDCAD division is currently seeking a Engineering Technician.  The hours for this role are 6:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m. The hourly rate for this position is $30/hr per hour. What you’ll do: 
 Eaton’s PDCA Power Distribution Control Assembly division in El Paso is currently seeking a MOL Engineering Technician. The MOL Engineering technician is responsible for designing and developing assemblies through the application of diverse technical principles and practices. In this role, you will prepare all necessary mechanical drawings, including, but not limited to, 3-D models of standard parts or bus assemblies with drawings, flat files, and assembly details for complex assemblies and prepare Bills of Materials for assemblies and subassemblies according to the available standard designs. When we embrace the different ideas, perspectives and backgrounds that make each of us unique, we — as individuals and as a company — are stronger.     ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: •    Prepare 3-D models, flat files, and drawings using Autodesk Inventor or various other computer programs and software, relating to new and modified equipment specifications, as well as from customer engineering interpretations.  •    Work with cross-functional development teams to create mechanical designs for products in response to a design specification or as directed by the department manager. These designs may be of a very innovative and creative nature.  •    Check work to ensure confirmation to plant Quality Standards.  •    Working knowledge of standards applicable to assigned products (ANSI, NEMA, UL, CSA, etc.)  •    Maintain part numbers with up to date information such as rev. number, usage, design changes.  •    Develop special layout and sketches for engineering tests to determine the acceptance application, operating characteristics, or performance of components of the assemblies.  •    Prepare necessary information to ensure efficient and timely material procurement, manufacturing information, and installation of assemblies.  •    Produce and load product structure bills of material into business system computer.  •    Maintain contact with manufacturing personnel to review and discuss manufacturing information, modifications, adjustments, and progress of work relating to the design and manufacture of equipment.  •    Provide support to Eaton Lean Systems, Eaton Quality Systems, MESH and Pro Launch to achieve and maintain required levels of certification and performance as needed from the engineering standpoint.  •    Supporting plant process changes via the Change Management Process. Qualifications: 
 •    Requires a high school diploma or equivalent from an accredited institution. · •    Minimum of 3 years’ manufacturing experience OR a degree in a technical discipline  •
