JOB SUMMARY This position works closely with Area Director of Revenue Strategy, Sales & Distribution and Marketing. General Managers and MDS team to verify proper strategies are in place to optimize total hotel revenue and business evaluation approaches that drive profitable revenue and RevPar Index. Act as the discipline expert to hotel leadership. Provide insight and context to leaders and help them meet their goals. Be a sounding-board for eCommerce ideas and issues.
Oversees total hotel(s) eCommerce activities and managers within area of purview. Responsible for balancing the eCommerce objectives of different lodging products to maximize total revenues and profit associated with guest rooms, catering space and F&B outlets. Oversees all processes associated with eCommerce, online partners, social media, trending digital directions. Develops and recommends eCommerce strategy for rooms and F&B. Identifies new revenue opportunities and effectively communicates eCommerce strategy and pricing of all key stakeholders. Acts as primary contact and maintains productive relationships with all stakeholders including hotel General Managers, sales leaders, franchisees and owners.
CANDIDATE PROFILE
Education and Experience
2-year degree from an accredited university in Marketing, Public Relations, Business Administration or related major and 2 years experience in the sales, marketing, digital or related professional area; hospitality marketing or digital advertising experience preferred OR 4-year bachelor's degree in Marketing, Public Relations, Business, or related major; no work experience required.
CORE WORK ACTIVITIES
Managing the Digital Team and Digital Operations • Works with sales leader to verify understanding of sales strategy and effective implementation of this strategy for the segment. • Works with management team to create and implement a sales plan addressing revenue, customers and the market for the segment led by the DOS. Assists with the development and implementation of promotions and champaign, both internal and external. • Provides positive and aggressive leadership to verify maximum revenue potential • Monitors all day-to-day activities of direct reports. • Works with Directors of Marketing & eCommerce, Managers of Marketing & eCommerce, Cluster Commerce Managers, Revenue Management, and Sales Leaders to position properties properly on-line.
Developing and Delivering eCommerce Marketing Programs and Initiatives • Designs and develops cross-regional, cluster, and property internet-based marketing programs for hotels under management. • Manages the execution of corporate eCommerce initiatives, programs, and eTools. Develops new solutions for business challenges. • Provides training and support for eTools, hotel websites, search engine optimization, paid search, eMedia etc. • Monitors competitive on-line activity and technologies and provide reports. Train team on new internet opportunities to verify forward-looking strategies are in place • Works with leadership to identify new eCommerce tools and opportunities. • Leads core cross-region eCommerce programs in an effort to drive profitable results and processes • Manages internet vendors/agencies in executing corporate and regional internet programs. • Partners with management to develop standards and communicate programs and results for stakeholders (e.g., property monthly reports, quarterly analysis, owner portfolio reporting). • Directs eChannels marketing and promotional opportunities for hotels with eChannels managers to drive need-time business. • Develops new eMarketing opportunities for group, catering and transient business as appropriate.
Tracking and Evaluating the Effectiveness eCommerce Solutions • Tracks and evaluates effective utilization of appropriate digital solutions. • Partners with Reporting & Analysis to provide tracking, analysis, and reporting on the effectiveness
