Position in this function is responsible for the management and oversight of the daily clinical operations in a service line. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: clinical leadership, clinical operations, patient and employee safety and satisfaction, quality care, fiscal management and personnel management. Partners and co-creates a dynamic and collaborative relationship and partnership with site chiefs. Ensures the continuity and advancement of systems, care model critical success factors and service standards. Supervises RNs and LPNs and assures that they are practicing in accordance with legal parameters, guidelines, and standards for clinical care. Serves as a clinical nursing resource and clinical operations partner in the areas of quality improvement, regulatory compliance, safety and professional development for their designated sites/service areas. Addresses patient and staff issues in collaboration with operational partners. The Clinical Nurse Manager positions are differentiated by the following critical components; this Clinical Nurse Manager II position: is an administrative position holds responsibilities over two or departments holds responsibility over an area of practice with a large number of direct reports or complex scope of clinical practice (high level disinfection, moderate sedation etc.) Primary Responsibilities: PERFORMANCE IMPROVEMENT/STRATEGIC PLANNING/QUALITY AND SAFETY In collaborative partnership with the Operations leader, responsible for the optimal clinical and operational functioning of the Service Line. Shares responsibility for on-site leadership and coverage and serves as a decision maker and/or accountable person for issues requiring immediate response such as significant patient or safety events, clinical or environmental emergencies In collaboration with site chiefs, recommends and implements improvements to clinical practice and clinical operations. Identifies and leads opportunities to enhance clinical quality and service excellence; implements department and/or Service Line processes, strategies and tactics. Participates in the development of policies, protocols, guidelines and standard work documents in collaboration with leadership team Leads, supports and partners with site chiefs and service line leaders on clinical program, development and/or network development initiatives Utilizes data and analytic reports to identify and prioritize opportunities for practice improvement in collaboration with department staff, specifically Quality data saturation grid, Press Ganey results, and organizational HOSHIN metrics Assures clinical and patient safety; reviews and follows up on safety reports and site safety practices to identify trends and priorities. Owns the clinical responsibility and engages operational partner to ensure proper safety resources are in place. Takes appropriate action to address areas of concern and incorporates into daily practice and activities in compliance with appropriate regulatory environment. Recommends changes to processes to mitigate future events and spreads knowledge throughout the Service Line and/or organization In collaboration with Operations leader and service line leaders, ensures the appropriate handling of patient problems or complaints within
