Job Description

At Gilead our pursuit of a healthier world for all people has yielded a cure for hepatitis C, revolutionary improvements in HIV treatment and prevention as well as advancements in therapies for viral and inflammatory diseases and certain cancers.  We set and achieve bold ambitions in our fight against the world’s most devastating diseases, united in our commitment to confronting the largest public health challenges of our day and improving the lives of patients for generations to come.  As a Manager, U.S. Medical Affairs, Liver Strategy at Gilead you will report to the Executive Director, Head USMA Liver Group and will support the development, management, and execution of U.S. Medical Affairs liver strategy in PBC, HDV, and across the portfolio. The Manager will play a critical role in translating USMA Liver strategy into high-quality, scientifically rigorous, compliant, and field-ready medical materials, digital resources, conference/symposium deliverables, and cross-functional planning initiatives. This individual will support across-portfolio content creation and lifecycle management through Medical Review Committee (MRC), help manage digital and AI-enabled medical platforms, and contribute to congress, conference, and symposium strategy and execution. The ideal candidate is scientifically minded, creative, highly organized, and able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, matrixed environment. This person should have strong Medical Affairs content experience, outstanding written and verbal communication skills, and the ability to work collaboratively across USMA Liver, Field Medical, Global Medical Affairs (GMA), Medical Information, Legal, Compliance, Commercial, Training, Operations, and external agency partners. This role is based in Foster City, California. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Support the development and execution of USMA Liver strategy across key liver disease priorities, including PBC, HDV, other viral hepatitis, and emerging portfolio needs. Work in close partnership with more senior team members on USMA Liver strategy and translation of strategy to content Serve as a key content and scientific contributor for USMA Liver, helping translate complex clinical, real-world, guideline, and congress data into clear, balanced, compliant medical communications. Lead or support creation, revision, review, approval, deployment, and lifecycle management of USMA Liver medical materials, including scientific slide decks, field-facing resources, FAQs, training materials, advisory board content, congress summaries, symposia materials, and digital medical education assets.
