Job Overview
Join TE Connectivity’s Maintenance Team supporting a high‑volume Manufacturing Facility, producing wire and cable products and compounds for wire and cable manufacturing for global distribution. This is a hands-on supervisory role, requiring rapid response to breakdowns, strong electrical and mechanical fault-finding, and the ability to lead and mentor maintenance technicians and apprentices. You will play a key part in Root Cause Analysis (RCA), continuous improvement initiatives, and driving site performance. Your new role:
Health, Safety & Compliance
Promote and support a strong site health & safety culture Identify hazards, ensure compliance, and drive timely closure of safety actions Support Risk Assessment (RA) reviews and development of new RAs and COSHH
Maintenance & Operations
Respond quickly to equipment breakdowns, minimizing downtime Perform and oversee planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and routine servicing Plan, coordinate, and prioritize PM schedules and corrective works Act as the technical point of contact during shift for all maintenance issues Manage shift handovers with clear, structured communication
Leadership & Supervision
Manage shift workload and allocate resources effectively Supervise contractors and ensure adherence to site and safety standards Support performance management, including 1‑to‑1s and development discussions Mentor and support maintenance technicians and apprentices
Continuous Improvement
Lead or support Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and ensure actions are fully closed Identify CER projects addressing obsolescence and continuous improvement Participate in Tier 3 and craft meetings, driving actions and feedback to Maintenance Management Conduct 5S walkarounds and maintain visual management boards
Administration & Systems
Raise parts requisitions and provide technical input to the Maintenance Coordinator Use CMMS to record work, PMs, and follow-up actions Maintain strong documentation and reporting standards What your background should look like
Minimum 3 years’ experience in a supervisory or lead maintenance role Completed apprenticeship or equivalent practical experience Strong multi-skilled maintenance background (electrical & mechanical) Experience working flexibly across multiple machines and disciplines Proficient with CMMS and Microsoft applications
