Job Description

Join us in our mission to improve health and improve lives. Labcorp is seeking a remote Lead Software Engineer to join our team! Job Responsibilities • Design, build, and maintain RESTful web services and modern single-page applications. • Develop scalable microservices on AWS that support LIMS workflows. • Write clean, well-tested code following TDD practices. • Participate in code and design reviews; give and receive constructive feedback. • Work closely with product, QA, and other engineers in an Agile/Scrum team. • Help improve coding standards, CI/CD pipelines, and DevOps automation. • Troubleshoot issues across the stack and support applications through their full lifecycle. • Communicate progress, trade-offs, and technical decisions clearly to the team. Minimum Qualifications • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or Information Technology. • 5 or more years of experience in software engineering with progressive responsibility. • Strong hands-on experience with Java , Spring Boot, JPA/Hibernate, and Maven. • 2 or more years building applications on AWS (Lambda, ECS, EC2, SQS, API Gateway) or equivalent in • Azure/GCP. • Experience designing and working with SQL databases (PostgreSQL, Oracle). • Experience with REST APIs and microservices architecture. • Familiarity with CI/CD tools — Jenkins, Git, Maven/Gradle, SonarQube, Jira. • Working knowledge of application security (OAuth 2.0 / OpenID Connect, Spring Security). • Experience working in Agile/Scrum teams. • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills. Preferred Qualifications • Experience with LIMS platforms (e.g., LabWare, LabVantage, STARLIMS, Thermo SampleManager) or other • lab/scientific applications. • AWS certification or deep production experience on AWS • Familiarity with APM tools (AppDynamics, Dynatrace) and log platforms (Splunk, ELK, OpenSearch). • Exposure and demonstrable experience with AI / LLM concepts, prompt engineering, or agentic coding • tools.
