Role

Specific Details Variable Time Drug Abatement Reps conduct 24/7/365 drug and alcohol tests based on testing needs. You choose your work hours but must coordinate locally to ensure all assigned tests are completed on time.  Weekly hours vary based on testing needs—on average you'll 10+ hours a week.   Please Note:   This role is classified   as  Variable Time , which means it is  NOT eligible for health insurance benefits . Employees in Variable Time roles receive  travel benefits only .

Role

Summary The Drug Abatement Representative is a variable-time (VT) position responsible for conducting drug and alcohol testing on a 24/7 basis. Testing may occur at any time, including days, nights, weekends, and holidays. As a member of the Drug Abatement team, you will sign up for and complete tests for employees working at your assigned location.    While you have flexibility in determining when and how often you work, you are required to meet the minimum workdays and/or hours outlined in departmental and company policies. Representatives must maintain sufficient availability to support testing needs across all operational hours and ensure assigned tests are completed in a timely manner.    You are also responsible for coordinating with the local collection team, where applicable, to ensure all assigned tests are completed. Schedules vary by location and testing demand, with opportunities for additional hours based on operational needs. Flexibility, reliability, and adherence to established departmental expectations are essential to successfully supporting the company's drug and alcohol testing program.

Key Duties

Conduct drug and alcohol testing, including urine, oral fluid, and breath specimen collections, in compliance with applicable federal regulations, state laws, company policies, and established testing procedures.  Coordinate and complete assigned testing activities across multiple workgroups and operational schedules to support timely compliance with testing requirements.  Apply critical thinking, sound judgment, and problem-solving skills when handling testing-related situations, including direct-observation collections, testing refusals, and other regulatory testing scenarios, seeking guidance as appropriate.  Utilize strong organizational skills and attention to detail to maintain accurate records, documentation, reports, inventories, and expense submissions in accordance with company and regulatory requirements.  Communicate effectively with employees, leaders, collection teams, and business partners to provide guidance on testing procedures, program requirements, and company policies while fostering positive working relationships.  Collaborate with station leadership, local collection teams, and fellow Drug Abatement team members to support testing operations, compliance objectives, and operational coverage.  Assist with regulatory, legal, or labor-related matters involving drug and alcohol testing by providing information, documentation, or testimony when required.  Participate in ongoing training and development to maintain knowledge of regulatory requirements, company policies, testing procedures, and evolving program needs.  Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned to support Drug Abatement operations, compliance objectives, and evolving business needs.  Job-Specific Experience, Education & Skills
