Job Type: Permanent THE POSITION As a critical member of Keyera’s External Affairs team, the Advisor, Indigenous Relations will advance business priorities and strengthen our external relationships and reputation by providing a considerable amount of expertise in Indigenous Relations. Based in Calgary and reporting to the Team Lead of Indigenous Relations, the successful candidate will be responsible for building authentic and long-term relationships and partnerships, managing engagement with several Nations and communities, and supporting formal project consultations while advancing broad business priorities.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Build, maintain, and deepen respectful long-term relationships with First Nations, Métis settlements, and Indigenous communities and leaders across Keyera’s operating regions. Act as subject matter expert and key internal contact for Indigenous Relations matters related to regulatorily required Indigenous Consultation on new projects and existing operations, general Indigenous engagement activities, supply chain management activities, Keyera’s Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP), and more. Collaborate with peers and leaders from projects, operations, supply chain management, regulatory, land, and other colleagues and teams from across Keyera to advance Indigenous Relations objectives. Facilitate and conduct regulatorily required provincial and federal Consultation with Indigenous groups on multiple projects simultaneously. Manage records of Consultation. Collaborate with project teams to adhere to regulatory timelines and project budgets. Work directly with members of Chief and Council, Consultation departments, Economic Development departments, and other community functions. Liaise with Indigenous community business leaders and collaborate with Keyera Supply Chain Management to maximize Indigenous inclusion within Keyera’s contracting and procurement activities on capital and expense projects. Support the objectives of Keyera’s Indigenous Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP). Attend and participate in community events and initiatives, as required. Coordinate and host internal and external meetings, events, and open houses. Facilitate internal cultural awareness initiatives and events. QUALIFICATIONS A minimum of 5 years of direct and/or related experience in Indigenous relations, community relations, and/or regulatory.
