What We Are Looking For
Kinder Morgan CO2 Company is currently seeking an Ops Technician for the North McElroy Unit in Crane, TX. The successful candidate will serve a vital role in maintaining the safe and efficient operations facilities and its wells.
What You Will Do
Operations Oversight Oversee daily injection operations, including contractor and operator activities; monitor SCADA systems, troubleshoot operational issues, and provide hands-on support for production, injection, and maintenance-related challenges. Production Optimization Analyze production performance through surveillance activities, investigate production variances, optimize ESP operations, identify improvement opportunities, and recommend corrective actions to maximize production. Safety Responsibilities Lead daily safety meetings, promote a strong safety culture, and identify, report, and correct safety and environmental concerns to protect employees, assets, the public, and the environment. Reporting Responsibilities Create, track and report daily costs. Create, track, and report daily Injection operational issues. Prepare a weekly field performance report for the Supervisor. Additional Responsibilities: Provide the Production Supervisor with support for all sections of the organization. Optimize field operations, identify satellite consolidation opportunities Lead monthly Regulatory meetings related to Surface and Production casing pressure. Oversee new construction projects from inception through startup with Project groups. Write effectively, and understand verbal and written communications, including but not limited to email. Help develop written operational procedures. Enter Workorders into Maximo. Maintain regular, dependable attendance and a high level of performance. Call-out and unscheduled overtime are required and anticipated. What You Need Educational Requirements: High School Diploma or Equivalent. Job Requirements: 5 Years EOR experience. “Enhanced Oil Recovery” Excellent planning and organization skills. Ability to successfully manage multiple projects simultaneously. Effective communication skills, particularly in the areas of lease operations and projects. Ability to contribute and work in a team environment. Must be willing to participate in an on-call out and carry a company cell phone. Preferred Experience, Skills, and Knowledge: Experience in CO2 EOR floods. Ability to troubleshoot operational issues as they arise. Well testing and production allocation. Thorough understanding of EOR Production Process Equipment to include Water Injection Facilities and how they relate to the operation. Artificial lift systems (ESP, rod pump, gas lift) Previous or current experience with LOTO, MOC, PHA and PSSR’s documentation and process. Previous or current experience with PLCs, HMI’s and associated languages. Microsoft Excel, Word, and production reporting software. Environmental regulations and compliance requirements. Well testing and production allocation. Production, surveillance and optimization. Chemical treatment optimization. Safety leadership and hazard recognition. Ensured compliance with company policies, environmental regulations, and safety standards. Participated in incident investigations, root cause analyses, and corrective action implementation.
