Job Description
WD is seeking an energetic Communications professional to join our Employee Communications team. This role will be responsible for providing employee communications support at the corporate level and will work closely with various organizations across the company.
In this role, you’ll be a key collaborator responsible for creating and executing communication content and campaigns that engage, inform, inspire, and connect employees to the business, leadership, and each other. You will be responsible for developing organization-wide communication campaigns, plans, and stories, managing communication channels and tools, and collaborating with various teams across the business.
You will report to the Director of Employee Communications and work closely with key stakeholders and other Communications leads across the business.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities Developing and managing various communication materials, such as newsletters, FAQs, comms plans, intranet content, emails, and internal social media/ community content. Day-to-day management of the company communication platforms and channels, ensuring they are up to date, engaging, and aligned with company goals and our culture. Regularly manage and update the team’s editorial calendar. Identifying and sourcing key stories across the business that highlight our culture and Values and promote WD as a best place to work. Leverage video or other media for creative storytelling, with a strong focus on writing scripts and developing short-form video content. Supporting internal events like the All-Hands meetings to promote employee engagement and foster a positive work environment. Providing timely and accurate information to employees regarding their questions and concerns via email and Teams. Tracking the effectiveness of internal communications programs and campaigns by compiling a regular metrics report and sharing with leadership.
Qualifications
Required 5+ years of internal communications experience. Excellent content development and writing skills, with a specific focus on campaigns, blog posts, video, and social media. Solid understanding of visual storytelling and script writing. Self-starter mindset and the ability to take initiative, find stories, build relationships, and drive engagement with little direction. Build, manage, and engage with employees via an online or internal social media community.
Skills
Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Skilled in video, podcast, or other forms of content creation to help tell employee stories. Familiar with Asana, Smartsheet, Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, or similar creative and project management tools. Highly collaborative and adaptable, with the ability to build relationships and work effectively with multiple stakeholders and across different levels of the organization. Curious and flexible, with the ability to think creatively. Effective team player, while also able to
