We have an exciting opportunity for a Product Owner supporting one of our premier programs within Raytheon, an RTX Business. In this role, you will serve as the Product Owner for an Agile development team within the Mission Engineering and Platform & Security Integration (PSI) Agile Release Train (ART). You will lead backlog management, story refinement, and work prioritization while partnering with Product Managers, Scrum Masters, Systems Engineers, and Software Engineers to deliver mission-critical capabilities. Your ability to translate customer needs into prioritized user stories, coordinate cross-functional dependencies, and support Agile planning activities will be instrumental to program success. This position is contingent upon contract award. The work is on-site in Aurora, CO.
What You Will Do
Own and maintain the team-level product backlog, ensuring user stories are prioritized, refined, and ready for execution. Decompose capabilities, features, and customer requirements into actionable user stories with well-defined acceptance criteria. Validate completed work against acceptance criteria and approve completed stories. Partner with the Scrum Master, Product Manager, Systems Engineers, and Software Engineers to prepare upcoming sprints while maintaining a healthy, prioritized backlog. Coordinate cross-team dependencies with other Product Owners to ensure alignment across Agile Release Train (ART) teams. Support capability elaboration, backlog refinement, sprint planning, Program Increment (PI) Planning, sprint reviews, and technical program milestones. Incorporate systems engineering, integration, cybersecurity, and platform requirements into backlog priorities. Communicate backlog priorities, team progress, risks, dependencies, and release readiness to Product Management, Release Train Engineering (RTE), and program leadership. Support continuous improvement initiatives that enhance Agile execution, backlog quality, and delivery predictability.
Qualifications
You Must Have Typically requires a Bachelor's Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, Business, or a related field and a minimum of 8 years of prior relevant experience. Experience serving as a Product Owner, Backlog Manager, Business Analyst, Systems Engineer, or similar Agile role supporting software development. Experience decomposing capabilities and features into user stories with well-defined acceptance criteria while maintaining Agile product backlogs. Experience working within Agile development environments, including sprint planning, backlog refinement, sprint reviews, and Program Increment (PI) Planning. Active and transferable U.S. government-issued TS/SCI security clearance is required prior to the start date. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
