The COTA assists patients in developing, recovering, and improving the skills necessary for daily living and functional independence. Responsibilities include implementing treatment plans, documenting patient progress, educating patients and families, and collaborating with the interdisciplinary healthcare team to achieve optimal patient outcomes. The COTA provides care consistent with professional standards, regulatory requirements, and organizational policies. Other duties as assigned. General Responsibilities: Remain current FL State COTA License. Remain current BLS Cert. Previous experience in an acute care hospital, rehabilitation, skilled nursing, or outpatient setting preferred. Knowledge of occupational therapy principles, practices, and treatment techniques. Ability to assess patient response to treatment and accurately document progress. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work effectively with patients, families, physicians, and interdisciplinary team members. Ability to maintain patient confidentiality and comply with regulatory and accreditation requirements. Ability to assist patients with transfers, mobility, and therapeutic activities. Ability to stand, walk, bend, lift, and move throughout the workday.
