About this role
Building Healthcare That Remembers Every time you call a doctor's office, the system forgets you the moment you hang up. You wait on hold, explain everything from scratch, get bounced between lines, and hope someone follows up. Everyone has felt this. No one should have to. At Assort Health, we're building one continuous conversation for every patient. An AI agent that knows who you are, remembers how you like to be reached, and carries that context from your first symptom to your full recovery. What began as the first voice AI agent to schedule a specialty appointment has become the largest proprietary specialty dataset in healthcare: 210 million patient interactions, 62,000 care protocols, 1.6 million decision pathways. We went from 15 people in 2025 and will cross 250 by the end of 2026. Revenue is up 20x in 15 months and we've raised $222 million, including a recent $120 million Series C at a $1.2 billion valuation. We've also been named to the Forbes Cloud 100 and the 2026 Enterprise Tech 30 as the only healthcare AI company on the list! Healthcare spends $1.1 trillion a year on administration instead of care. If you want to help change that, apply below. What youβll do: Take end-to-end ownership of product design: shaping roadmap decisions, defining core experiences, and shipping at speed without compromising craft. Design AI-native experiences across distinct user groups: internal operators, clinic users, and patients, each with different needs, contexts, and levels of technical fluency. Design with commercial outcomes in mind: high-quality product experience is a growth lever here, and your work will directly influence ARR, retention, and expansion. Leverage, maintain, and scale our design system: drive consistency across all products and touchpoints. Set and hold the bar for UI/UX quality: partner closely with Product and Engineering to iterate quickly, prioritize user value, and continuously raise the standard. What weβre looking for: 5+ years designing and shipping production-ready digital products. Startup experience strongly preferred. Demonstrated experience designing across multiple personas and surfaces, ideally within complex, high-stakes AI-driven products. A track record of design work that measurably moved revenue metrics, including user growth, conversion, retention, or expansion ARR, not just usability improvements. A portfolio that demonstrates systems thinking: full flows, edge cases, component architecture, and sharp interaction design, not just polished hero screens. Proven ability to lead through ambiguity, making fast, confident calls, seeking feedback proactively, iterating quickly, and handing off with precision. Deep Figma fluency. 90%+ of your work uses auto-layout and components, and you could run a Figma workshop (though we won't make you). Fluent in weaving AI tooling into your workflow, including research, storytelling, UI copy, and beyond. Comfortable with vibe-coding and prototyping tools like Figma Make and Cursor. You move easily across the design-development boundary.
Nice to have
Experience as an early design hire or founding designer at a startup. Design engineering experience, and the appetite to take on hands-on design engineering work (for example, maintaining design systems, building or shipping front-end UI, not just prototyping it) as part of this role.
