As an Area Manager, you will have the opportunity to lead and develop your own team of Amazon Associates in a sort center environment. Your main focus will be motivating, mentoring and coaching your team. As a servant leader, the Area Manager will ensure that their team of Amazon Associates have all the tools needed to succeed for any task during a shift. Engaging with your team during a shift to ensure that the highest levels of safety, quality, attendance performance and engagement are maintained are core functions of the role. As IB / OB Area Manager or Delivery Shift Manager, you will be in charge of part of the operation of our work centers during an assigned shift. These operations involve the management of human, technological and physical resources to ensure the correct execution of the daily operation plan aligned with results. Within these functions you will be mainly in charge of: • Continuous improvement pillar: Propose, plan and execute continuous improvement strategies that seek continuous operational efficiency. • Industrial Safety Pillar: During the shift, you are the main person in charge of safeguarding the well-being of the personnel under your charge, being directly or indirectly hired by the company. • Pilar Talent Management: Being a Manager at Amazon is a privilege and a responsibility, as a Manager, you will be focused on hiring and developing a workforce who will become the next Amazon leaders. • Operational Pillar: Review the operational forecast and determine productivity requirements for the operation. This role is fully onsite and requires flexibility to work and rotate shifts: weekends, holidays, and/or overnight shifts, and Ability to work overtime both in peak season and as needed. Key job responsibilities - Lead, develop, and manage a team of 20 to 50 Amazon Associates, driving their professional growth and operational performance - Serve as the primary point of contact for the team on policies, ensuring compliance and applying corrective action when needed - Design and implement recognition and communication programs that drive team engagement - Ensure full compliance with all safety programs and OSHA regulations to maintain a safe work environment - Enforce building security protocols and product loss prevention procedures - Partner with the leadership team to establish and maintain quality control standards - Set performance goals aligned with customer demand, ensuring accuracy and quality targets are met - Stand and walk for shifts of 10 to 12 hours - Walk frequently throughout the warehouse (facilities may exceed a quarter mile in length) - Access all areas of the building, including ladders, stairs, and gangways - Perform repetitive movements: bending, lifting, stretching, and reaching above head and below waist level - Lift and move items weighing up to 49 pounds
