About this role

Amazon Japan is hiring a senior leader to own our vendor-facing inbound consolidation services portfolio, the set of programs that help vendors move inventory into Amazon's fulfillment network efficiently and reliably. These programs are a critical lever for improving inbound cost, shortening vendor lead times, and scaling Amazon Japan's fulfillment capacity as customer demand grows. In this role, you will set the multi-year strategic direction for vendor-facing inbound services, own the portfolio's financial performance, and lead the program team that designs, launches, and operates these services with vendors and supply chain partners. You will partner across Retail, Supply Chain, Operations, Finance, and Technology to translate vendor and network insights into program investments, and represent Amazon in senior-level joint business planning with Japan's largest vendors. The right leader is both a strategist and an operator: comfortable authoring long-range strategy, equally comfortable diagnosing a stalled vendor pilot or unblocking an operational defect on the warehouse floor. You think in mechanisms, write clearly, hire well, and raise the bar on the team you inherit. Fluency in Japanese and English is required given the vendor-facing nature of the role. At Amazon, you'll work alongside the latest AI and GenAI tools that are increasingly woven into how teams operate: from AI-powered capabilities that accelerate decision-making, to Generative AI that helps you focus on work that truly matters. You'll have opportunities and resources to develop AI fluency at your own pace, with continuous learning built into the culture. Key job responsibilities Strategy and vision - Set the multi-year strategic direction for Amazon Japan's vendor-facing inbound services portfolio. - Shape the long-term roadmap in partnership with Retail, Supply Chain, and Operations leadership. Financial ownership - Own the portfolio's P&L: vendor adoption, cost improvement, lead-time reduction, and program operating costs. - Set annual goals and quarterly targets; lead monthly business reviews with Finance and Retail leadership. - Build investment cases for new programs and prioritize headcount and technology spend against expected returns. Operational excellence - Ensure day-to-day program execution meets Amazon's bar for vendor experience, inbound quality, and network reliability. - Establish the review mechanisms, escalation paths, and feedback loops that keep the portfolio healthy and self-correcting. - Partner with Operations and Transportation to resolve systemic inbound defects. Team leadership - Lead, coach, and grow a team of program and product managers. - Raise the hiring bar; build a succession plan and clear career paths for the team. Cross-functional partnership - Equip Retail and vendor management teams with inbound programs and insights they can take to their vendors. - Partner with Retail, Supply Chain, Finance, Legal, and Technology to align program design and roadmap.
