Amazon Leo is building the world's most advanced low Earth orbit satellite network, delivering fast, affordable broadband to unserved and underserved communities globally. This is one of the most ambitious infrastructure programs in Amazon's history, combining satellite manufacturing, silicon development, global supply chain, terrestrial infrastructure, and enterprise technology at unprecedented scale. This Finance Manager will partner with engineering leaders across Amazon Leo's hardware development organization, supporting financial planning, investment governance, and operational reporting for programs spanning RF/modem systems, communications payloads, and ground infrastructure. Key job responsibilities Business Partnership: Serve as a finance partner to one or more engineering charters within the hardware organization. Build trusted relationships with engineering leaders to drive financial clarity on program cost, schedule, and investment trade-offs. Deliver consolidated financial views that connect engineering milestones to resource consumption. Financial Planning & Analysis: Own bottoms-up OP1/OP2 inputs for assigned cost centers. Deliver monthly close, variance analysis, and forecasting with action-oriented commentary. Build and maintain financial models for headcount planning, OpEx, and CapEx across multi-year program roadmaps. Capital & Investment Governance: Support milestone-based spend tracking for hardware development programs from concept design through production qualification. Contribute to make-vs-buy analysis, total cost of ownership modeling, and ROI frameworks for architecture and supplier decisions. Track capital expenditure against approved budgets and flag risk proactively. Supplier & Vendor Financial Analysis: Support financial evaluation of hardware component suppliers and manufacturing partners. Contribute to cost analysis for supplier negotiations, contract structures, and dual-source strategies. Partner with engineering and procurement on payment terms and cost optimization. Controllership & Compliance: Maintain financial integrity across assigned cost centers, including fixed asset accounting, capitalization policies, and SOX compliance. Identify and escalate financial risks across engineering programs and capital-intensive activities. Process Improvement & Automation: Drive automation in financial reporting using AI and programmatic tools to reduce manual burden and improve accuracy. Partner with finance systems teams to build dashboards and reporting tools that enhance cost visibility for engineering leadership. Leverage AI for data synthesis, scenario modeling, and narrative generation. Document standard operating procedures for recurring financial processes.
