Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems (AS) sector is seeking a Subsystems Chief Engineer (CE) . This role is based out of Melbourne, FL .  The selected candidate is responsible for the integrity of the air vehicle subsystems’ technical baseline. The candidate will be responsible for the development, integration, and verification of air vehicle subsystems, components and software to meet platform mission requirements.  The candidate will drive critical technical solutions, inform robust risk and opportunity management and support strategic initiatives, ensuring operational performance and sustainability for delivered products. Candidates will provide technical leadership to the various air vehicle subsystems sub-IPTs by setting the technical direction for the team to execute, guiding the flow down and decomposition of system level architecture/requirements, and support tracking and reporting all relevant metrics to the IPT lead and Air Vehicle CE. The candidate will be responsible for maturing and maintaining a strong culture of coordination with the SEIT team. Candidate will be responsible for cultivating and maintaining strong relationships with peers and top leadership and briefing executive and customer leadership. Candidate will report to the Air Vehicle CE. Key Responsibilities include:    Maintains cognizance over technical activities within the Air Vehicle Subsystems Integrated Product Team (AVSS IPT) and ensures the program, including Suppliers, are adhering to sound engineering processes in the development, integration and verification of air vehicle subsystems capabilities (ECS, EPS, FPS, Fuel, HYD, LGS, and Mechanical Systems) Primary AVSS IPT technical representative at reviews with senior management and Customer stakeholders Provides guidance for all related technical activities and is responsible for the integrity of the program technical baseline, technical products and interfaces with the Customer / Partners / Suppliers. The CE shall coordinate with the AVSS IPT Program Manager to ensure execution of the programs within an established cost and schedule baseline. The CE leads the technical baseline development, ensures configuration management of the design, ensures detail design approaches follow Sector processes and procedures, leads the top design/architecture approaches, and drives reuse of design concepts from across the Sector The successful applicant will have demonstrated knowledge and experience in one or more air vehicle subsystems, subsystem integration, ground and flight test, software development, component development and qualification, and supplier management.
