Location: This position is onsite at JH Campbell Unit 1&2 located in West Olive, MI. The selected candidate must be within a commutable distance or willing to relocate (relocation package is available for those that qualify). This position is a timebound full-time opportunity designed to support a specific business need with an anticipated duration through cessation of operations and cold and dark activities (retiring the generating facility) transition with an anticipated duration through approximately 2028. If you are unable to find another role within six months of the assignment end, your employment will be separated. General Summary of Job Responsibilities
The Supervisor, Fuel Handling is responsible for the planning, organization, coordination, evaluation, and supervision of all Fuel Handling Department operations. This position leads a team responsible for the safe receipt and unloading of coal railcars and the continuous supply of coal to plant boilers through a complex conveyor system that fuels plant operations. The incumbent also supervises activities related to the management of bottom ash ponds, fly ash silos, and the ash landfill, where byproducts of the coal combustion process are stored and managed. All responsibilities are performed in compliance with applicable regulatory, environmental, and safety standards. *Position works an alternative 8 on 6 off schedule with 10 hour shifts. Position will be either day shift (0600-1630) or night shift (1800-0430). Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Develop and maintain visual management tools, problem-solving processes, and Lean methodologies, while promoting employee education and utilization of these practices. Ensure compliance with environmental regulations and oversee work management activities by executing monthly maintenance plans and managing emergent repairs. Manage fleet vehicle condition, maintenance, and repair quality. Directly supervise union employees involved in the operation of fuel handling and landfill equipment. Ensure equipment reliability and operational integrity through employee training, Business Continuity Plan compliance, adherence to the Code of Conduct, and compliance with all company policies and procedures. Perform administrative responsibilities including timesheet approvals, estimated straight-time accounting, training scheduling, Read and Sign compliance, ARCOS data entry, editing and reporting, on-call resource coordination, and the acquisition, inspection, testing, replacement, and distribution of personal protective equipment (PPE). Lead grievance management processes, conduct safety and disciplinary investigations, and administer corrective or disciplinary actions as appropriate.
