Northrop Grumman is seeking an Associate Electrical Engineer/Electrical Engineer . This position will be located at our Aeronautics Systems Sector in Melbourne, FL . The qualified candidate will become part of Northrop Grumman’s Vehicle Engineering directorate. Essential Functions: The selected candidate may be involved in multiple aspects of aircraft subsystem development including electrical design, analysis, requirements, lab testing, data post processing, and issue troubleshooting. Aircraft subsystems include Avionic System Architecture, Cable Design, and Electrical Power Generation & Distribution.
Responsibilities
May Include: Develop electrical wiring designs of a functional system including the selection of aircraft-type conductors and electro-mechanical components such as connectors, relays, switches, circuit breakers, terminal junction systems, etc. in accordance with SAE AS 50881 and proven commercial practices. Support design requirements for electrical power generation, conversion and distribution systems, and circuit protective requirements for aerospace vehicle systems including Electrical Loads Analysis, test procedures, power architecture, reports, analyses, and other vehicle power related deliverables. Familiarization with MIL-STD-704 required. Responsible for all aspects of system/component design and development including trade studies, layouts, architecture definition, system test & verification, and troubleshooting. May participate on a subcontractor management team and will act as the technical point of contact with suppliers for hardware development, qualification, and procurement. System level test planning, execution support, verification, data processing, and troubleshooting. System level evaluations to verify requirements and ensure airworthiness criteria are met.
Basic Qualifications
This requisition may be filled at either an Associate Electrical Engineer level (T01) or an Electrical Engineer level (T02). Basic Qualifications for an Associate Electrical Engineer (T01): A candidate, regardless of age and hiring source, must meet ALL of the below criteria. The candidate must: Be completing or has completed their Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution by August 2027. Be majoring in or having majored in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Math) degree. Be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government security clearance (U.S. citizenship is a pre-requisite) as well as Program Special access within a reasonable period of time, as determined by the company to meet its business needs (U.S. citizenship is a pre-requisite). Final approved U.S. Government security clearance (U.S. citizenship is a pre-requisite) as well as Program Special Access may be required to start.
