Career Category Marketing Job Description The Rare Disease (RD) Marketing Lead will have the full responsibility for the Marketing strategy and execution for Thyroid Eye Disease Therapeutic Area. The RD Marketing Lead is accountable for the brands within the Rare Disease franchise (currently Tepezza, plus possible future pipeline assets), and will lead the JBT (Japan Brand Team) and also the XFT (X-functional team) in Japan. In addition, the RD Marketing Lead will be accountable for contribution to the overall global strategy by providing insights and input from a Japan perspective (“Global with Local” contribution). This role will also be the main accountable and the main interface for all franchise brand related matters towards the GM, RD Business unit Director (BUD) or other Japan Operation Committee (JOC) members. As part of this role, RD Marketing Lead is expected to lead and develop the teams in the reporting lines, as well as nurturing and developing talents and ensuring strong succession planning within the TA franchise organization. As a key member of Amgen it is expected from the RD Marketing Lead to take a proactive approach to the shaping of RD Business Unit business and culture, and be a champion for the Amgen 2030 vision and Amgen’s mission “To serve patients” among its team members and within the company. In this position, the RD Marketing Lead is expected to have opportunities to experience new challenges and grow as a potential candidate for next generation of Business Unit Directors, one of JOC functions or even as a global leader.
Main Responsibilities
Reporting directly to the Rare Disease Business Unit Director of Japan, this role is critical in overseeing all brand strategic and operational matters related to the RD Franchises in Japan. Your ability to collaborate across functions at local, regional, and global levels will be key. Strategic Leadership: Develop and manage the brand strategy and ensure its successful execution to achieve or exceed business goals. Financial Management: participate in the coordination and drive business and financial processes, including Strategy and Operations and P&L management for the RD franchise.

Leadership: as a key member of RD Business Unit Leadership Team, exemplify Amgen’s values and mission. Lead and develop the team to ensure high-quality strategy and execution across all RD brands / indications. Talent Development: Mentor and develop top talent, set goals, conduct succession planning, and manage performance to align people’s contributions with business objectives. Stakeholder Engagement: Represent Amgen and engage with external healthcare stakeholders in accordance with applicable laws, regulations, and company policies as a patient-centric partner of choice. Build long-term, productive relationships with customers and shape external environment based on Amgen strategy and customer insights.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
The responsible tasks are as follows. - Launch readiness plan (LRR): critical plan for a successful launch of new brand under the responsibility of the Product Manager. The RD Marketing Lead has accountability and ownership of the LRR for each brand / indication within its franchise. On the process of planning and execution, RD Marketing Lead should lead JBT, XFT and other stakeholders for launch. - Brand Plan: the RD Marketing Lead will manage the Product Managers to develop the annual Brand Plan Framework (BPF) and Plan of Action (PoA) incl. set and track financial targets per brand (sales top-line target and necessary investment), coordinate supply needs , Key Goal Indicators / Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) while ensuring a strong strategic alignment with Medical Affairs and Sales. - Marketing tactics/activities: The RD Marketing Lead will manage the team of Marketers to operate marketing-initiated tactics and activities and to communicate and collaborate closely with other cross-functional teams including
