About the Role
HPE is seeking a seasoned Specialist – Datacenter Engineering & Modernization to build next-generation platforms that enable intelligent, sustainable, and cost-efficient datacenter operations. This is a hands-on architect role, combining deep software engineering with platform design, optimization, and multi-site integration. You will lead the development of scalable tools that predict utilization, reduce operational cost, and provide executive-level visibility into datacenter KPIs Drive Independent Software Vendors and technical engagements by evaluating solutions, leading integrations, and aligning partner capabilities with platform architecture. What You’ll Do Responsibilities: Build & Architect Platforms (Hands-on) Design and develop scalable tools using Python and Java Drive architecture while actively coding core components, APIs, and integration layers Modernize legacy systems into cloud-native, microservices-based platforms AI/ML-driven Optimization Develop models to predict utilization, forecast demand, and optimize resource allocation Enable OpEx reduction and carbon footprint minimization through intelligent automation Operationalize ML models into production systems Cloud & Microservices Engineering Build and deploy cloud-native applications (AWS/Azure/Hybrid) Implement microservices architectures, CI/CD pipelines, and containerized deployments Multi-site Integration & Platform Unification Integrate tools and telemetry across global datacenter/lab environments Create unified data models, APIs, and workflows across systems Executive KPI & Analytics Platforms Build dashboards delivering insights on: Utilization and capacity trends Operational efficiency and cost Sustainability and carbon metrics Translate technical data into business-ready insights for leadership ISV & Partner Management Drive technical engagement with Independent Software Vendors (ISVs) Evaluate solutions, lead integrations, and align partner capabilities with platform architecture Drive Efficiency & Sustainability Deliver solutions that improve utilization, reduce waste, and enable sustainable datacenter operations What you need to bring:
Education and Experience
Required: 12–18 years of experience in software engineering and platform development Strong hands-on expertise in Python and Java Proven experience in: Microservices and cloud-native architectures Datacenter or infrastructure tools/platforms AI/ML models for prediction, optimization, or analytics Experience with containers (Docker/Kubernetes) and modern DevOps practices Strong system design, API development, and integration experience Ability to combine architecture thinking with hands-on coding
