Primary Responsibilities
Design, develop, and deploy Machine Learning, AI, and Generative AI solutions to solve complex healthcare and provider business problems Analyze large-scale structured and unstructured data to generate actionable insights, predictions, and recommendations Build and optimize predictive models, NLP solutions, and LLM-powered applications to improve platform intelligence and automation Collaborate with product owners, engineers, architects, and business stakeholders to translate requirements into data-driven solutions Develop data pipelines, perform feature engineering, and ensure data quality, governance, and regulatory compliance Evaluate, monitor, and continuously improve model performance, accuracy, and scalability in production environments Present insights and recommendations through dashboards, reports, and visualisations to support strategic decision-making Mentor team members and contribute to innovation by identifying new AI/ML opportunities that drive measurable business outcomes for the ICP platform Comply with the terms and conditions of the employment contract, company policies and procedures, and any and all directives (such as, but not limited to, transfer and/or re-assignment to different work locations, change in teams and/or work shifts, policies in regards to flexibility of work benefits and/or work environment, alternative work arrangements, and other decisions that may arise due to the changing business environment). The Company may adopt, vary or rescind these policies and directives in its absolute discretion and without any limitation (implied or otherwise) on its ability to do so Required Qualifications: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Engineering, or a related quantitative field 3+ years of experience in Data Science, Machine Learning, Advanced Analytics, or AI/ML solution development Hands-on experience with cloud platforms (Azure/AWS), data engineering concepts, and big data technologies such as Spark or Hadoop Solid proficiency in Python, SQL, statistical analysis, machine learning algorithms, and data modelling techniques with AI/ML frameworks such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, Scikit-learn, and exposure to Generative AI and Large Language Models (LLMs) Proven solid analytical, problem-solving, and stakeholder communication skills, with the ability to translate business challenges into data-driven solutions Preferred Qualifications: Certifications: Microsoft Azure AI Engineer Associate / Azure Data Scientist Associate Databricks Data Scientist Associate AWS Machine Learning Specialty GenAI/LLM-related certifications Experience working with healthcare, provider, claims, or enterprise data domains At UnitedHealth Group, our mission is to help people live healthier lives and make the health system work better for everyone.
