SBM Mold Set Up Technician B

Houry Rate DOE $25-$35 3.1 The SBM / EBM Mold Set-Up B is required to perform basic mold assembly and maintenance to ensure that tooling is production ready at the time of the scheduled set up. 3.2 Maintains efficiency, housekeeping, safety and GMP’s. 3.3 Assists in mold disassembly and assembly. 3.4 Must provide own tools, toolbox. 3.5 Identify potential issues with tooling through visual inspection. 3.6 Disassemble, clean, inspect and assemble all tooling including all mold components. 3.7 Prepare tooling for set up and include all necessary components. 3.8 Identify tooling from prepared set-up sheets necessary for set up. 3.9 Perform mold PM’s at scheduled intervals. 3.10 Follow daily instructions from the department’s Group Leader. 3.11 Train new department employees in mold assemble and related techniques. 3.12 Ship molds to other plants with all components included and perform inventory and inspection of incoming molds. 3.13 Maintain ownership and adequate inventory of the spare parts inventory cabinet. 3.14 Ship and receive molds as needed. 3.15 Performs other duties as assigned. 4.0 Qualifications 4.1 Skills 4.1.1 Must be capable of starting and completing mold changeovers on at least three (3) machine platforms within the department. 4.1.2 Must have knowledge of extrusion head teardowns and re-assemblies. 4.1.3 Must be able to sandblast extrusion molds and other tooling components if applicable. 4.1.4 Basic math skills are required to measure tooling components. 4.1.5 Must have a good mechanical aptitude. 4.1.6 Must be able to read, write effectively in order to understand production related materials. 4.1.7 Must be capable of sliding heavy molds, in excess of 50 lbs., onto carts, tables and machine surfaces. 4.1.8 Must be able to follow written and verbal instructions. 4.1.9 Have a good understanding of tooling descriptions by Engineering number and be able to identify mold components used for conversions. 4.2 Education and/or Equivalent Experience 4.2.1 Minimum two (2) years’ experience as an SBM / EBM Mold Set-up B. 4.3 Physical Requirements/Work Environment 4.3.1 Individual must be capable of sliding heavy molds in excess of 50 lbs. onto carts, tables and machine surfaces. 4.3.2 Must be able to work overtime when needed on weekdays and weekends. 4.3.3 Mold Shop is hot and humid during summer. 4.3.4 Able to wear all required PPE – steel toe shoes, safety glasses, ear plugs, hard hat, gloves and heat resistant sleeves, as required. 4.3.5 Able to comply with site cGMP requirements – hairnet, beard guards, no jewelry. 5.0 Organizational Relationship 5.1 Reports to the Process Engineering Supervisor.
