About this role

Design and build the electrical systems that power next-generation automation robots, working hands-on in our engineering lab to transform prototypes into production-ready solutions. You'll partner directly with mechanical engineers, software engineers, and technicians to create industrial control panels, integrate sensors and components, and solve complex technical challenges that impact Amazon's operational efficiency across hundreds of fulfillment centers. Key job responsibilities As an Senior Electrical Engineer you will: - Design industrial control panels using EPLAN, selecting and specifying components including PLCs, IPCs, motor drives, sensors, and safety devices to meet system requirements - Research, evaluate, and select sensors, actuators, motors, and other electrical components for integration into automation systems, ensuring optimal performance and reliability - Perform system-level electrical design and integration, ensuring electrical subsystems work cohesively with mechanical and software components across the complete - Create wiring harness designs and electrical documentation, including connector specifications, wire routing, cable management, schematics, wiring diagrams, and bills of materials for prototype and production systems - Build, assemble, and test prototype wiring harnesses and control panels in the lab, conducting electrical validation using standard equipment and iterating based on test results; aide field deployment and troubleshooting as needed A day in the life As an Senior Electrical Engineer on our team, you'll focus on designing industrial control panels and developing electrical systems for robots that operate at scale across our fulfillment network. Your day might include selecting and specifying components like PLCs, motor drives, and sensors using EPLAN; researching and evaluating new electrical components for integration into automation systems; or building and testing prototype wiring harnesses in our lab. You'll work alongside mechanical and software engineers to ensure electrical subsystems integrate seamlessly with other components, then iterate quickly based on test results. Beyond regular design work, you may conduct electrical testing using oscilloscopes and multimeters, generate technical documentation like schematics and wiring diagrams, or assist field deployment and troubleshooting at fulfillment centers to ensure systems perform reliably in real-world environments. Amazon offers a full range of benefits that assist you and eligible family members, including domestic partners. Benefits can vary by location, the number of regularly scheduled hours you work, length of employment, and job status such as seasonal or temporary employment. The benefits that generally apply to regular, full-time employees include: 1. Medical, Dental, and Vision Coverage 2. Maternity and Parental Leave Options 3. About the team

We are a Hardware Development Engineering team operating in a highly partnership-focused, multi-disciplinary environment. Our group includes software engineers, controls engineers, data scientists, reliability engineers, and operations teams working collectively to design, prototype, and develop robots from early concept through production-ready integrated systems. We focus on ensuring our solutions meet customer experience, safety, regulatory, and business requirements before deployment. Our work spans the entire product development lifecycle—from concept generation and design down-selection through continuous improvement of deployed systems across hundreds of fulfillment centers in North America and Europe. What sets us apart is our hands-on
