APAC AML/CFT Compliance Lead

A key part of building our business is ensuring we do it with sustainable outcomes, compliant with regulations. Trust from all stakeholders is a key enabling factor to make Adyen successful in the long term. To achieve this, Adyen has organized a mature Second Line function that partners with the business to cut through financial crime risk complexities and power sustainable growth. Our Anti-Money Laundering (AML) Compliance team and framework are at the core of this.

Within the global AML Compliance team, we are looking for an experienced professional located in Singapore and with a proven track record in AML Compliance. This role is created to help build Adyen’s business operations in Singapore and the rest of the Asia-Pacific (APAC) region. In this role, you will be responsible for managing Adyen’s internal and external regulatory compliance obligations for the Singapore Branch. The successful candidate will also act as the Money Laundering Reporting Officer for Singapore, serving as the point of contact for regulators and authorities.

Moreover, we expect this role to step up and coordinate the AML Compliance activities across the APAC region, working closely with the local AML Compliance officers for the jurisdictions in which Adyen acts as a regulated entity. This means that beyond the scope of the Singapore MLRO itself, also an enabling function over the other APAC jurisdictions will potentially be part of the mandate.

What you'll do

• Maintain and continuously improve the local regulatory compliance frameworks to ensure that all regulatory requirements in Singapore, including the various Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS) guidances, are embedded in local policies and procedures in a practical and scalable way

• Lead regulatory engagements and manage relationships with regulators and supervisors in Singapore around financial crime and sanctions risks to achieve Adyen’s strategic opportunities;

• Represent the Adyen AML Compliance function on a variety of work streams and industry bodies to develop regulatory strategies that align with global objectives and ensure controlled and compliant growth;

• Oversee the day-to-day operations of Adyen Singapore AML/CFT and Sanctions programme, including the implementation of the training programme, (oversee) filing of reports to STRO, as well as responding to enquiries made by regulators or law enforcement;

• Act as a direct Compliance counterpart to the business, enabling the growth of the local portfolio as a collaborative effort;

• Report on the Adyen Singapore AML/CFT and Sanctions Programme to the local Adyen Management Board, and prepare and submit external regulatory reporting on AML/CFT;

• Determine the overall strategic AML Compliance objectives and needs for the APAC region together with the AML Compliance regional officers, and form plans of execution.

• Work with the global AML
