Job Description: Kubernetes Platform infrastructure Architect Role Overview Position: Kubernetes Platform Infrastructure Architect Organization: VCF GTM & Advanced Services Position Type: Full-Time / Enterprise Infrastructure & Systems Integration Focus   About the Team & Mission The Modern Workloads Platform Engineering team is responsible for enabling enterprise success with VMware vSphere Kubernetes Service (vKS) as part of VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF). Our mission is to accelerate adoption of vKS as the enterprise-grade Kubernetes platform for modern applications in private cloud. As a Private Cloud Platform Architect, you will work on the front lines with strategic enterprise customers and Systems Integrators, driving the architectural validation and successful design of VCF deployments. This is a hands-on, architect-level, customer-facing role focused on designing software-defined data centers (SDDC), integrating physical-to-virtual network fabrics, and guiding clients through their data center modernization journeys.   Key Accountabilities Trusted Architectural Advisor: Act as a trusted advisor for enterprise customers, guiding them through the strategic design, validation, and full-scale deployment of VMware Kubernetes solution built on VMware Cloud Foundation infrastructure platforms. Technical Leadership & Adoption: Drive customer success by spearheading architecture workshops, technical deep-dives, and complex Proof-of-Concepts (PoCs) to accelerate the deployment of Supervisor and VMware Kubernetes Service." Kubernetes Networking Solutions: Deliver resilient solution architectures for Kubernetes networking, managing advanced configurations for IP Address Management (IPAM), container-native egress/ingress traffic, and cloud-native microservices routing. Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner closely with Product Management, Engineering field core teams and Systems Integrator partners to jointly develop customer proposals that address virtualization scaling, workload placement, and physical-to-virtual operational transformations. Asset & Pattern Creation: Build, standardize, and share reusable reference architectures, deployment patterns, and technical assets to accelerate customer adoption of VCF enterprise infrastructure.   Required Skills & Experience Core Technical Acumen Deep technical acumen : Proven architecture expertise on VMware Cloud Foundation core infrastructure products, including advanced vSphere deployment, vSAN storage architectures, and automated SDDC Manager operations. Experience with Kubernetes Platform Engineering (EKS, AKS, RH OCP/OPP, Rancher) Excellent Infrastructure Knowledge: Comprehensive knowledge of enterprise IT infrastructure, including server, network, and storage architectures. Advanced Networking Fabrics: Deep design and implementation experience with enterprise networking fabrics eg. VMware NSX or other leading Solutions. Cloud-Native Networking: Demonstrated solutions experience managing Kubernetes-native networking constructs, ensuring reliable ingress controllers, egress controls, and CNI multi-tenancy configurations. Advanced Troubleshooting: Lead analysis of issues during PoCs or pilot across the entire technology stack, tackling complex infrastructure, networking, and containerization issues within Kubernetes and Supervisor environments."   Experience & Leadership Professional Experience: 10+ years in technology-related engineering or consulting roles, with explicit depth in enterprise IT architecture, data center SDN, or private cloud infrastructure platforms.
