Senior Systems Engineer - Storage Platform & Quality Engineering This role has been designed as ‘Hybrid’ with an expectation that you will work on average 2 days per week from an HPE office.

What You’ll Do Lead end-to-end quality engineering for enterprise storage platforms, focusing on hardware–software interactions across firmware, drivers, and system software. Design and build scalable automation frameworks and tools using Python to improve test coverage, validation, and debugging efficiency. Investigate and resolve complex customer-reported issues, performing deep system-level debugging and root cause analysis. Apply AI/ML techniques, including Generative AI, for failure analysis, anomaly detection, test optimization, and workflow automation. Develop reusable tools and utilities that enhance observability, productivity, and overall test effectiveness. Drive system-level testing strategies covering performance, reliability, scalability, and edge-case scenarios. Collaborate across engineering teams to improve product quality and accelerate issue resolution. Mentor team members and foster a culture of innovation, continuous learning, and engineering excellence. What You Need to Bring 6–10 years of experience in QA, system engineering, or storage systems, preferably in enterprise or distributed environments. Strong programming expertise in Python (or Perl), with hands-on experience building automation frameworks and tools. Solid understanding of testing principles, debugging methodologies, and automation design. Strong knowledge of Linux/Unix systems and system-level troubleshooting. Proven experience in diagnosing and resolving complex system or customer issues. Familiarity with enterprise storage technologies, including hardware, firmware, drivers, and platform software layers. Experience or exposure to AI/ML techniques such as Generative AI, LLMs, or AI-assisted testing. Strong analytical thinking with a focus on reliability, scalability, and edge-case validation. Excellent communication, collaboration, and mentoring skills.
