Together, we’re improving health and improving lives. Labcorp is seeking a Technologist Trainee join our team in Houston, TX. Work Schedule: Tuesday - Saturday, 5:00pm – 01:30am, some overtime required Shift: 2nd, this position is eligible for a shift differential New Grads Welcome – Full Training Provided Key Responsibilities: Perform GC/MS and LC/MS operation, maintenance, confirmation batch loading and unloading in accordance with Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) and supervisor guidance. Review and interpret confirmatory GC/MS and LC/MS chromatographic data and all associated quality control, calibration and instrument data. Maintain inventory of laboratory or instrument supplies and reagents. Notify appropriate personnel or supervisor of any shortages. Preparation of reagents and mixtures essential to MS department. Follow proper chemical waste disposal procedures, and handling of chemicals according to the safety manual and Material Safety Data Sheet (MSDS) protocols. Understand and follow quality procedures and protocols for security and confidentiality. Follow chain of custody procedures with accuracy and consistency. Verify chain of custody and specimens received. Perform and record instrument and equipment maintenance and function checks. Understand and follow Standard Operating Procedures and protocols as directed. Understand and comply with all laboratory and safety policies. Additional duties as assigned by supervisor Minimum Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in a Chemical or Biological Science, Clinical Laboratory Science, or Medical Technology Preferred Qualification: Current or prior Labcorp experience ASCP or AMT certification GC/MS and LC/MS experience Additional Job Standards: Proficient with computers; Familiarity with laboratory information systems Ability to work independently and within a team environment High level of attention to detail along with strong communication and organizational skills Able to pass a standardized color blindness test Flexibility to work overtime or other shifts depending on business needs Benefits: Employees regularly scheduled to work 20 or more hours per week are eligible for comprehensive benefits including: Medical, Dental, Vision, Life, STD/LTD, 401(k), Paid Time Off (PTO) or Flexible Time Off (FTO), Tuition Reimbursement and Employee Stock Purchase Plan.
