About this role
We Are Synopsys is the leader in engineering solutions from silicon to systems, enabling customers to rapidly innovate AI-powered products. We deliver industry-leading silicon design, IP, simulation and analysis solutions, and design services. We partner closely with our customers across a wide range of industries to maximize their R&D capability and productivity, powering innovation today that ignites the ingenuity of tomorrow. You Are You have spent years building test strategies that catch the kinds of bugs that would otherwise make it to production and ruin someone's quarter. You know that verification is not just running scripts, it is understanding what could go wrong, where the edge cases hide, and how to prove that a system actually does what it claims to do under real conditions. You are comfortable reading someone else's code, tracing through execution paths, and asking the right questions when something does not add up. Automation is your default, but you know when to step back and think through a test plan manually before writing a single line. You do not wait for perfect documentation. You work with what you have, talk to the engineers who built the feature, and figure out what needs coverage. Debugging energizes you. When a test fails intermittently or a result does not match expectations, you dig in. You script in Python, Tcl, and shell without friction, and you have learned that the best test frameworks are the ones that actually get used by the team. At Synopsys, you will work on EDA tools that power semiconductor design across the industry. The software is complex, the stakes are real, and what you validate will ship to customers building the next generation of chips.
What You'll Be Doing
Design and implement automated test scenarios for Synopsys EDA software using Python, Tcl, and shell scripting Analyze test execution results, investigate failures, and file detailed defect reports with clear reproduction steps and diagnostic data Execute and maintain regression test suites to ensure zero functional degradation across product releases Collaborate with development teams to understand new features, review code for testability, and build test coverage that matches real-world usage Contribute to test planning for new product features, translating requirements into test cases that cover functionality, performance, and edge conditions Participate in root cause analysis sessions, providing test data and insights that help engineers isolate and resolve complex issues Review and improve testing processes, tooling, and automation frameworks to increase efficiency and coverage The Impact You Will Have Prevent critical defects from reaching customers who depend on Synopsys tools to design chips for AI, 5G, automotive, and cloud infrastructure Reduce manual testing overhead by building reusable, maintainable automation that scales across product lines Accelerate release cycles by catching issues early and providing fast, actionable feedback to engineering teams Strengthen product reliability and customer trust by ensuring that every release meets Synopsys quality standards Enable the successful launch of new features and platforms by validating them thoroughly before they go live Contribute to a culture of quality where testing is treated as a first-class engineering discipline, not an afterthought Help Synopsys maintain its leadership position by ensuring that the tools we ship actually work the way customers expect What You'll Need Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electronics Engineering, Semiconductor Engineering,
