We are looking forward to “Engineer – Mechanical Design” based in Chennai, India. The position requires a highly energetic, result-driven, self-motivated, and proactive individual with sound knowledge of Mechanical Design and development. The candidate should also possess strong Leadership, interpersonal, presentation, communication, conflict resolution, and stakeholder relationship management skills. Other core competency requirements are Customer focus, Strategic thinking, Functional Excellence, Integrity & Ethics, and Professional Maturity. Overall candidates should have around 8+ years of experience in Mechanical product design and development. Good Knowledge of Product Design and Development of electromechanical products (Sheet metal Design, Plastic design). Need to collaborate & work with US product engineering team. Need to understand the electrical products and conceptualize new ideas for new product development and for the betterment of existing products Need to perform electromechanical calculations. Need to design the product as per UL, IEEE & NEMA standards. Need to create Drawings based on ASME Y14.5M – 2009 standards. Proficiency in Autodesk Inventor software modeling, Assembly configurations, drafting, routing & Electrical harnesses. Good Knowledge of plastics, ferrous and nonferrous materials. Able to select the material depending upon the product requirement. Good knowledge in GD&T and tolerance stack-up. Good knowledge of DFMA guidelines while designing the product. Able to create prototypes, manufacturing, sales, catalog, and Assembly packaging drawings. Good knowledge of design tools FMEA, VA/VE & DFMA methodologies Good Team player - Develop good interaction with team lead and team members Should have good communication skills oral & written. Interact with US engineers to understand the requirements of the project Should act as technical interface to US team and is responsible to ensure that projects are executed within agreed schedules What will help you thrive in this role?
Bachelor of Engineering in Mechanical Min. 4 to 5 years Design & Development. Hands-on experience in the field of Plastic and sheet metal design component design. Knowledge of UL, IEEE, and ANSI standards Good knowledge of GD&T Good knowledge of 3D modeling and assembly using Autodesk Inventor Good Communication Skills Experience in the manufacturing industry / Should Costing is an added advantage. Experience in electromechanical product design is an added advantage Knowledge of Autodesk Inventor, AutoCAD software, Autodesk Vault Solid works software is added advantage. Geometrical dimensioning & tolerancing, Tolerance stack-up analysis.
