Job Description
Job Type: Part-Time, Permanent Work Location: 100 Simmonds Drive, Dartmouth, NS B3B 1N9, Canada Workdays: Monday through Friday (Must be available to work all 5 days) Workhours : 5am - 12pm (5 hour shift guaranteed) Hourly wage: $21,14/hr. Must be able to work at least 25 hours per week to be considered Key Responsibilities: Ensure all employees comply with safety policies and procedures, adhering to department, station, corporate, and OSHA requirements Oversee training, development, and accountability for safety, production, and attendance, while maintaining high standards for productivity, accuracy, customer service, and organization Provide leadership and foster functional working relationships across all levels of the organization Manage department resources to optimize output, accuracy, and efficiency Ensure outbound packages are processed, loaded, and dispatched on time Establish and promote a positive, team-oriented work environment, focusing on employee involvement, proactive communication, inter-departmental cooperation, and continuous improvement Implement personal development plans and ensure employees receive detailed orientation, skills training, safety training, and coaching Ensure accurate submission of employee timecards on a weekly basis Conduct risk management, safety compliance audits, and routine inspections to ensure safety and regulatory compliance Apply knowledge of company structure and operations to resolve problems, make decisions, and achieve business objectives Generate customized reports, access relevant databases, and interpret data to improve performance Dispatch planning and area relooping Maintain stops counts and stops count accuracy Requirements : Ability to lift up to 70 lbs. (32kg) unassisted. Ability to work in a fast-paced warehouse environment Availability to work flexible shift hours, including special Sunday sorts during peak season Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to multitask Strong verbal and written communication skills Must be able to work at least 25 hours per week Strong proficiency in MS Office and other relevant software Bachelor's Degree or International equivalent – Preferred Management experience – Preferred What we offer: UPS offers a competitive compensation package which includes benefit options including health and dental coverage, group insurance plan, paid vacation, employee stock purchase plan and an unlimited opportunity to grow within the company.
