Eaton’s ES AMER ARS division is currently seeking a Hazardous Waste Technician to join our Fibrebond team in Minden, LA! This is a great opportunity for someone with an interest in the Hazardous Waste field looking for an opportunity. Our team will provide you with the training to ensure you feel confident and are successful in the role. The core hours average 54 per week (including overtime) from 6 am - 4:30 pm, M-F. There is also overtime every other Saturday from 6 am - 2:30 pm. The hourly range for this position is $16.50-$17.71 per hour. What you’ll do: Maintain an understanding of hazardous waste management requirements and their application to site operations. Participate in the identification, classification, and characterization of wastes generated at the site. Maintain a working knowledge of the requirements for establishing and managing Satellite Accumulation Areas (SAAs) as needed. Ensure transfer personnel promptly move hazardous waste containers from SAAs to the Central Accumulation Area (CAA) in accordance with applicable requirements. General awareness that hazardous waste is shipped off-site by an approved disposal contractor within the applicable accumulation time limits, including the 90-day requirement. Participate in and support the completion of weekly inspections of Central Accumulation Areas. Assist in tracking and verifying completion of corrective actions for deficiencies or issues identified during inspections. Maintain a general understanding of coordinating waste shipments with approved transporters and Treatment, Storage, and Disposal Facilities (TSDFs), including scheduling waste pickups and disposal activities. Conduct inspections of waste containers and drums prior to shipment to ensure compliance with regulatory and company requirements. Maintain familiarity with the Fibrebond Contingency Plan and Quick Reference Guide; assist in coordinating emergency response activities and preparing required notifications and incident reports for contingency plan events. Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned that are consistent with natural career progression and business needs. Qualifications: Required (Basic) Qualifications: High School Diploma or GED equivalent from an accredited institution. Eaton will not consider applicants for employment, immigration sponsorship or support for this position. Required Education & Training Provided by site: Introductory Training: RCRA Hazardous Waste & DOT training within six months of employment and before working without supervision or oversight.
