Job Description
The starting rate of pay for this position is expected to be $33.00; however, starting pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills and experience between $30.00 and $44.00. SHIFT: Monday - Friday 4:00 p.m. to 2:00 a.m. (this shift is eligible for $1.65/hour shift premium for worked hours) LOCATION: Sterling MA ( not eligible for relocation or employment-based visa sponsorship) JOB SUMMARY Responsible for performing routine preventative maintenance, periodic inspections, basic troubleshooting, and simple repairs of facility and production equipment. Supports production uptime by maintaining equipment reliably and assisting higher-level technicians with more complex repairs and rebuilds. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Follow all safety procedures, including Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), confined space, and machine guarding requirements. Ensure all repairs and maintenance activities comply with company policies and regulatory requirements. Properly document maintenance activities and completed work orders using MaintainX system. Maintain a clean and organized work area in accordance with 5S and housekeeping standards. Participate in safety meetings and continuous improvement initiatives. Perform other job and project related duties as assigned. Preventative and Predictive Maintenance: Supports and complies with safety and environmental guidelines Perform scheduled preventative maintenance on blown film extrusion equipment and auxiliary systems. Conduct lubrication, cleaning, adjustments, inspections, and component replacement according to maintenance schedules. Complete daily, weekly, monthly, and annual maintenance checklists. Inspect equipment for wear, leaks, vibration, and abnormal operating conditions. Equipment Maintenance and Repair: Perform scheduled preventive maintenance activities according to established maintenance plans. Replace belts, bearings, rollers, hoses, filters, sensors, and other routine wear components. Assist with machine changeovers and equipment setup support. Report equipment deficiencies and maintenance concerns to supervisor using MaintainX system. Facility Support: Assist with facility maintenance tasks including lighting, compressed air systems, cooling systems, and general building upkeep.
QUALIFICATIONS
High school diploma, GED, or equivalent work experience. Technical degree, apprenticeship, or vocational training in industrial maintenance, mechanical technology, or related field (preferred). Minimum 1-3 years of industrial maintenance experience, preferably in plastics, blown film, extrusion, packaging or manufacturing environments. Strong mechanical aptitude. Basic understanding of mechanical systems and industrial equipment. Able to use hand tools, power tools, precision measuring instruments, and maintenance equipment. Willingness to learn blown film manufacturing equipment and maintenance practices. Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills. Ability to prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Excellent communication and teamwork skills. Self-motivated with the ability to work independently with minimal supervision. Commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Able to consistently stand, walk, squat/kneel, bend, reach, pull/push, climb, crawl, work at overhead, waist height, and below waist. Able to work at heights and around operating machinery. Able to frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Able to perform fine and gross motor skills. Able to read, comprehend and communicate (written and verbal) in English. Able to work overtime, weekends, and respond to emergency maintenance situations as required.
