Join our collaborative team as a Field Applications Engineer at Thermo Fisher Scientific, where you'll contribute by providing expert technical support and innovative solutions to our customers and our Application Engineering team. You'll work at the intersection of advanced technology and customer success, helping organizations optimize their research, development, and manufacturing processes. In this role, you'll deliver comprehensive application support across our LiquiCEL portfolio. You'll collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure successful implementation of solutions while building strong relationships as a trusted technical advisor. You will design and lead experiments using Thermo Fisher's innovative dissolved gas separation products, support the development of new applications, assist with new product introductions, and partner with manufacturing and quality teams. You'll also collaborate with our Global Application Engineering team to help drive the adoption of our technologies worldwide.

Work Environment

This position is not a traditional bench laboratory role. While laboratory testing and experimentation are key components of the position, much of the work is performed in an industrial laboratory and engineering environment where systems are assembled, operated, tested, and maintained. Candidates should be comfortable working with process equipment, instrumentation, and mechanical systems in environments where temperature, humidity, and other conditions may not always be climate controlled.

Minimum Qualifications

Advanced degree with no prior experience required, OR Bachelor's degree plus 2 years of experience with relevant instrumentation and applications. Preferred fields of study include Chemistry, Physics, Materials Science, Engineering, Life Sciences, Fluid Dynamics, or a related technical discipline. Expertise or experience with physical chemistry, water flow, and dissolved gas concentration is highly desirable. Experience with SEM, EDC, and TOC is highly desirable. Additional certifications in relevant technical specialties are advantageous. Demonstrated expertise in laboratory processes, workflows, and data management principles. Strong understanding of regulatory requirements and compliance standards, including FDA, ISO, GLP, and GMP. Experience with water treatment and filtration is advantageous. Advanced problem-solving skills with the ability to analyze complex technical requirements. Demonstrated ability to make technically sound contributions that advance knowledge within a technical specialty and develop innovative solutions to complex technical challenges. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to deliver technical presentations. Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build productive working relationships. Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of cross-functional teams. Proficiency with Microsoft 365
