A Day in The Life Of: In general, the following responsibilities apply for the Software Engineer II role. This includes, but is not limited to, the following: Design, develop, and test software for Class I, II, and III medical devices in accordance with software development standards such as IEC 62304. Collaborate with product engineers, technology architects, software engineers, and software test engineers to deliver high-quality software solutions. Participate in software design, implementation, debugging, and verification activities throughout the product development lifecycle. Contribute to project planning, effort estimation, and execution of assigned work packages. Conduct and participate in technical reviews of requirements, specifications, designs, code, and other engineering artifacts. Support process improvement initiatives by identifying opportunities to enhance efficiency, quality, and team effectiveness. Apply software engineering best practices, coding standards, and development processes to ensure the delivery of reliable and maintainable software. Contribute to the development of reusable software components and solutions that improve team productivity. Work collaboratively across functions and with internal and external partners to deliver innovative products to market. Continuously expand technical knowledge and skills through learning, training, and practical application. Key Skills & Experience Level 8 degree in Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field. Minimum of 2 years of relevant software engineering experience, or an advanced degree with relevant technical experience. Passion for developing high-quality software and supporting documentation. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment. Good oral and written communication skills. Experience with software design and development practices. Exposure to regulated software environments or medical device software development is desirable. Experience working in Agile development environments and familiarity with Test-Driven Development (TDD) principles. Proficiency in one or more of the following
